  1. Most of my fish have been caught on a 1/2 oz firetiger booyah spinnerbait with the stock willowleaf blade replaced with a #5 silver willowleaf.
  2. That was simply an incredible game. I've always said the potential was there for the raiders to be great, and I'm a raiders fan, but I was simply shocked. It was great. I was jumping up and down and screaming the whole time. this is really a huge win for the raiders. I'm really surprised campbell managed to play so well. Just last week he was terrible. It was nice to see mcfadden play though, he seems faster than ever. I really hope this marks a turning point for the raiders. We'll see what happens on sunday when they play the seahawks. GO RAIDERS!!
  3. Damnit, I got really excited when I saw this. I thought the Raiders might finally get a good quarterback. I'm glad I decided to read the whole thread before i started calling friends to spread the news.
  4. Nice to see the ducks are dominating, and #2. Cant say I'm surprised though.
  5. I voted baitfish. The waters I fish don't have shad, but the bass are often keyed in on perch/bluegill/ trout it seems. Where I fish there are a ton of crawfish, and I often do well on craw baits, but usually baitfish imitators do best. In the early spring and late fall I usually always catch them on craw baits, and they often spit up craws, so it seems to me like it varies by season. Right now, from what I can tell they're eating a lot of perch and bluegill. Also, my best lures are ones that run higher in the water column and imitate these.
  6. We have over here in Oregon too, although they're pretty rare. The big gangs in my area are the surenos and nortenos, as well as a bunch of skinhead gangs. The skinheads tick me off more than the others.
  7. 15 years old and drinking vodka?? Most 15 year olds do drink vodka.
  8. I always love seeing the cowboys lose. Especially to a team that isn't very good.
  9. In early fall I throw mostly crainkbaits and topwaters. The lakes I fish get drawn down, which means most of the cover like brush is above water. I fish mostly rocky banks and flats. In late fall, (November-December) I inch a jig across the bottom, which usually results in some very nice fish.
  10. That's just one more reason to hate the vikings. I can't wait to see Brett Favre getting smashed by the saints.
  11. I like the idea of this new forum. It may get out of hand, but if someone doesn't like it they can just not use it.
  12. Lately I've been catching a lot of fish on topwaters, mostly buzzbaits and poppers. My problem is that I only get bit on topwaters when there isn't very much wind. It's often very windy at my lake. What topwaters work well in heavy wind? I'm not talking about a little ripple on the surface, but actual waves. Will topwaters even work in this situation? My buzzbait keeps going under the water when it hits the waves, and other topwaters just get blown all over the place. If topwaters wont work under these conditions what will? It seems like I can't catch em when the wind is strong, then once it stops I start catching them.
  13. Does anyone know when the sale ends? I'm planning on ordering on monday and don't want to miss it. The site won't even load now, there must be a lot of people on it.
  14. I like yum dingers most of the time. When I want a faster fall I go with a yamamoto. Most of my stick bait fishing is done in the spring, and the fish usually like the slower fall of the dingers.
  15. See this is the problem. I'm not sure if it is a defective part or not. the worm gear always gets stuck in the same place each time. It then gets hard to reel, and when I reel through it it makes a click, jumps back to the left and stops getting stuck. It's still fishable, but I don't want to use it anymore until I know what's wrong with it, so it doesn't get worse. If anyone knows what the problem could possibly be I'd like to hear from you. I e-mailed Abu Garcia and they said to send it in, but I don't know if the warranty will cover it. If it doesn't I would rather take it to a local place.
  16. Today my reel's worm gear kept getting stuck on the left side. I cleaned the area thinking it was clogged with weeds. the worm gear still got stuck, although it stopped happening as often. The worm gear only gets stuck every once in a while now, but I'm afraid there may be something wrong with it. The reel is only a few months old. I'm not sure if I should send the reel back, it is under warranty but I may be able to fix it myself. Also, I'm not sure how to get the sideplate off to adjust the centrifugal brakes. The reel casts just fine so I haven't bothered with it, but I would like to know. If anyone could help me I would apreciate it, otherwise I'll probably just contact Abu garcia about it.
  17. Actually during the summer it's normally bright and sunny here. We've only had a couple rain storms all summer. Medford isn't on the coast so the weather's nicer. Hey Urp, it's good to see someone from my area on here. I've been struggling with bright sunny days too, especially since I bank fish. I did get in a lot of buzzbait fishing at emigrant yesterday, though.
  18. The one I've had the most success with has been a Super Spook JR. Since that wasn't on the list I voted lipless crank.
  19. Very cool frog. I'll defenitly be buying one as soon as they come out. All his baits look great, but I'm most excited about the wideglide and the frog.
  20. Man woman wild is one of the worst shows I've ever seen. I can't watch more than 20 minutes before I have to change the channel. I thought dual survival looked lame, but I've started watching it and I really like it. I really want survivorman to come back, I love that show. It annoys me how they don't even play repeats anymore. Does anyone know why it was cancelled?
  21. It sounds like a great trip. Those are some beautiful brown trout. I can't wait to backpack around some high mountain lakes here in Oregon, especially after seeing your post.
  22. Thanks for the cool pics A-Jay, Nate and J Francho. It really shows the diffirent color variations. The ones with the hooked jaw are really cool looking. I went out again the other day. I still only caught stockers. Oh well, at least I was able to gain some confidence in flyfishing. I'm pretty new to it but have been enjoying it a lot. Thanks to everybody who replied to this thread. I've gotten good advice. I don't think this river has many brownies in it. I'm going to try fishing other rivers and lakes around the state that are well known for brown trout.
  23. Early in the season I like a bomber model A in firetiger. Later in the summer I like a rapala dt 6 in perch.
  24. Thanks for the help everyone. I'll be going again in the next few days. I'm also gonna go to to the flyshop near there and ask them for suggestions. there are a lot of undercut banks, and I haven't fished them yet. I'll defenitly spend some time fishing them. I agree with you about the stockers webertime, I'd rather catch 1 native rainbow than 10 stockers. Unfortunatly, they stock this river like once a week with small aggressive rainbows. It is better than catching nothing though.
