I love throwing the Zara Spook and do pretty well with it. I know to let the fish take it before setting the hook. When i saw the Yum Money Hound i thought this product was just what i needed for the "weedy" areas where my spook won't work. Well, I'm getting a ton of hits on it but havent boated a fish yet. What size / type of hook are you using? Are you modifying it any to allow the hook to seperate from the lure better? To me it just doesnt seem like the money hound will collapse enough to get the hook out far enough from the bait. I want to like this lure but its getting frustrating not being able to get one hooked. Hopefully someone will say they have done well on it and have some suggestions.

Thanks for the help guys. I only started experimenting with topwaters late last fall on a trip to Canada and had a blast. The pike and smallmouth loved the Zara Spook i threw and now i am "hooked"

How long after ice out would top water (zara spook, etc.) lures start to become effective? Is there a certain water temperature you like to see before you pull them out of the box? What works best for you in the early spring???
