  1. I caught a 4lber on my koppers frog yesterday evening. I want to get a popping frog, black, just like bluebasser. Also don't overlook mouse imitations.
  2. For smallmouth in moving water.
  3. I would think u would need a bigger bite in the hook on your chatterbait.
  4. Anybody using this bait? I bought them as a jig trailer, but i haven't used the heavy jig that i put the bait on. I think this bug would be killer as a stand alone flipping bait, on a wide gap hook. Flips and pitches in the pads. Im certain this will be a good bait in the pads to complement my tubes and worms. Also, does anybody love those worm hooks that have some lead welded onto the shank? These hooks are versatile and just the right weight for a controlled fall.
  5. I would think you should loosen the brake until the lure drops quickly. My old ambassaduer i don't use for casting for bass, i just use it for carp where i take one cast and let it sit.
  6. Terminators do eventually break. I have seen it myself and i have seen friends'.
  7. I like a spinnerbait in the wind.
  8. I don't have any terminators no more. Lost one last year and one this year. However i did aquire A TERMINATOR buzzer this year. My spinnerbait collection would be all terminators idealy. I just can't stand thinking i have to tune my spinnerbait after every fish. I don't know why but i just think i have to tune it after every fish, but when im throwing a terminator i don't worry about that. Then u start tuning it and bending it and it just makes it worse and now its running on its side. Gosh darn it. So what im asking is; are there any other brands besides TERMINATOR that offer a maintenance-free, snapback sb?
  9. This season i have decided to make chatterbaits a staple in my small kayak tackle bag, along with spinnerbaits, tubes, and other single hook stuff. My experience this year with my chatterbait is that this is a big fish bait. However i don't want to completely cull out smaller bass from my fishing. I read in an old magazine that smaller fish are intimidated by the bladed jig. I have been using the 1/2 once white cahtterbait but i also got a 1/4 once white bait that i haven't used yet. I also got a 5/8 once chatterbait pro and that thing is huge, especially with a swimbait trailer on it. Im gona throw that thing for hawgs. Back in i think '06 i bought a chatterbait because of all the "chatter" at that time about the lure. I caught a small bass on it, but i don't remember what size that lure was. Am I gona catch numbers throwing a chatterbait?
  10. I hooked a duck with a crankbait at a camp ground and the thing went balistic so i cut the line. Then I caught a monster snapping turtle in a marina on a weedless worm, thing was a tank. Quick release with pliers.
  11. Bottom line is i added 4 new chatterbaits to my tackle and 0 rage blades. Im not gona fin-s this thing fishing it as slow as i can. With a bladed jig i want to search and cover water. Another point- the skirt is positoned like half way down the shank, makes it look kind of unatural with a bare shank between the blade and skirt/trailer. I think my rage blade will be relegated to the bottom of my binder. And i think that clip of shaw grigsby was just a spot for strike king.
  12. I have alot of this spiderwire line, so im just gona change it every 4 outings and then try powerpro of suffix braid. Thanks for the comments.
  13. I think its best to apply in the bathroom before you go out. Then you can just wash your hands if your paranoid of traces of the smell on your lures.
  14. Nothing wrong with my casting rod guides.
  15. Have used this lure numerous times this year. Its black & blue (proven color). Have used different trailers on it, first the one it came with, then a slug-go, then a black & blue craw, then a small swimbait. This thing hasn't caught me nothing. My chatterbait brand on the other hand has caught me two big bass and a big pickerel. What gives?
  16. Spiderwire stealth braid 15lb. test. I had a custom terminator spinnerbait whith a huge white blade and was bulging it. Bam 3lb even smokes it. A few casts later I cast off my lure, however there is still some line floating in the water and i am able to retrieve it. Tie the fish catching lure on again and cast, this time it breaks closer to the lure and its gone into the muck forever. So i tie on another lure (secret) and cast that thing off to. Im losing my patience at this point. So I strip off half my spool and tie on another lure, and didn't have any more line related problems that evening. This braid i spooled on before this season. Its been on for a decent amount of casts, but im not even half way thru the season. There wasn't any obvious signs of degeneration and it wasn't tangling much. Usually braid will tangle before it snaps as it ages. So should i be changing line more often? Is spiderwire stealth not a good line? Help appreciated.
  17. Grubs, inline spinners, spinnerbaits, tubes, poppers.
  18. Since i posted this thread they still haven't responded to my email.
  19. I found out how to take the plate off, so i did that and took the spool out and lubed up the bearing, as well as the brake and the worm gear while i was at it. I haven't been on the water yet to see if the problem is relieved. In the meantime i pulled the trigger on a new reel, the bps tourney special. Thanks for the offer DVT, but I want to learn how to work on these reels myself, however you are close so if i have a major problem i could ship it down to you.
  20. My revo sx that i just got repaired the end of last season is screaming horribly on the cast. There is deffinetly some friction in there because it is restricting distance. I really don't know how to work on this real, i don't even know how to take the side plate off. Maybe BPS has a cheaper reel repair deal than the place i shipped it off to last time. Wut should i do here?
  21. So i gather there is very little difference performance-wise.
  22. I was dissapointed the other evening to find my local Barnes&Noble bookstore stopped carrying Bassmaster magazine. I have an old collection of Bassmaster, and I want to be in the know this summer. Bassmaster was the best fishing magazine if you ask me. I sent an email to them and I never heard back. I would at least like to hear from them before I order a subscription off that website. A while ago espn owned BASS. Who owns them now? I think BASS had declined ever since Ray Scott passed. All the pros are ditching BASS for major league fishing and FLW. And now my bookstore dosen't even carry them.
  23. Looking at the bps Johnny Morris carbonlite combo for the future possibly. It has as an option a microguide casting rod. What are the advantages or disadvantages of microguide? thanks.
  24. Im really liking fishing chatterbaits this season, fun lure to fish. How do they work for smallmouth in lakes? what about Rivers?
