  1. I like drop shotting with Gulp in Watermelon Pearl or Emerald shiner. Rig a Chigger Craw in a Pumpkin or Motor Oil type colour just as though you were flipping it but drag it (don't jig it, just inch it along the bottom) as painfully slow as possible along the bottom. Any weight you feel.....set the hook and get'er done!!! Hope this helps. CWeb
  2. I couldn't agree more. The floating Rapala in the 3" early in the year and 5" in the fall is one of my all time favourite Smallie baits (Pop-R is the other) I agree with the Perch recommendation but if there are shiners and such by the bridge, maybe try the Black and Silver. I always found that for holding fish, depending on how fast the current is actually cast down current, reel the bait upstream with some twitches and then let it flutter back to the top as it drifts down stream, repeat several times before re-casting. This technique is the same premise as fly fishing where you drift the bait past the fish over and over again. Note, a lot of your strikes will comes as the Rapala is drifting back to the top....hang on, cause they'll rip the rod right out of your hand just before it hits the surface. Best of luck, CWeb
  3. Some of the terminology in bass fishing and describing lake areas confuse me. Two that come to mind immediately are rip-rap and laydowns. Can some of you comment on what exactly these areas are, what to look for to find them and why I want to fish them? Thanks. CWeb
  4. Hello everyone, This is my first post on this forum. After seeing Ron on Lunkerville I thought I would check this place out. Although I haven't really looked through the site thoroughly I am excited to based on what I have seen so far. I am originally from the Toronto area where I enjoyed fly-fishing for Brook and Brown trout as a child and became a bass (small and largemouth) fanatic as I grew older. Although there are no bass where I am living now, I get to enjoy amazing Walleye and World Record size Lake Trout fishing to keep my skills up to snuff. I will be retiring in about 12 years and am looking to acquire and share as much bass knowledge as I can as I will be moving back to the Toronto area where bass fishing and the odd tournament will be a part of each and every day. I'm looking forward to reading what you all have to say. Cheers for now. CWeb
