  1. Ok thanks everyone. I am heading out saturday so hopefully I can return with some good news!!! If not, I will still have fun just getting out.
  2. Well here in Maryland the weather saturday is gonna be mostly sunny and around 70. I'm dying to get out fishing for the first time this year and I was wondering if the fish will be biting or is it too early??? and also, I will be fishing a reservoir, up in coves with some cover and also open water. What are my best tactics to catch the fish this time of year? As in bait and all. ANY help is great. Thanks!
  3. Thanks that helps alot, exactly what I was looking for
  4. Well I went out on my first fishing trip with my new gear to Liberty Reservoir and ended up catching 14 fish. No monster fish or anything, just a bunch of small bass and a couple Sunny's, but still amde for a great time. Just wanted to let you guys know of my beginners luck I guess ;D
  5. Depth I would say anywhere from 1ft out to 5 ft. There are some trees for cover but no big rocks or anything. Just casting right off the shore of the reservoir hoping to snag something. Just looking for any advice. Thanks!
  6. I will be doing alot of fishing in a reservoir and I was wondering what would be the best lure to cast right offshore? Need some ideas here, I have only used worms so far and they work ok but only got smaller fish. What else??
  7. Well i wanted to buy a nice new rod to get started fishing. So I went to Dicks and bought an Abu Garcia. It's 6"6" Med Duty. So far I love the rod. I have used it once and causght 14 fish at Liberty Reservoir in 1 morning. Nothing huge but it was still fun to reel in some fish with a new rod. Im looking forward to bringing in some bigger fish soon
  8. I am up close to the Hunt Valley area, nortern Baltimore County
  9. I am looking to buy a new rod for fresh water fishing in ponds and reservoirs and such. Just wondering what you guys think would be a good rod for me to start out with that I could buy from Dicks or something like that. I dont need a $100 to start off with maybe something between 25 and 50. I will take any opinions. Thanks
  10. Hey everyone I am Rob and I am starting to get more into fishing. Just figured I would join up here to get some good help on rods and all. Looking forward to talking to everyone
