  1. Hi, I had a customer ask me to paint up four lures with logos of a professional sports team. Has anyone ever been asked to do that before, and how would you handle it? I'm concerned about licensing. Thanks, Matt
  2. Hi, I just purchased a Lowrance X96. I am going to install it on my 15'-6" Lowe Jon that I've modified for Bass fishing w/ a casting deck. I'm going to install the unit on what would be the middle bench, which is now the rear end of my casting deck. That way, I can spin the unit and drive around, and then spin it back to fish from the front. What I'm wondering is if I can hook up another transducer and mount it on the trolling motor for use while fishing from the front? Would I have to unplug the rear ducer and plug in the front one when I stop to fish? Could plugging and unplugging cause damage to the unit? Thanks, Matt
  3. Nice fish. 2nd picture makes it look like it had a little mouth problem.
  4. No, it wasn't on the warm side. It was kind of nice, because the few people that were out on a Thursday seemed to keep toward that side of the lake, which left the rest of it to me! I started on the cove just across from the marina and caught three in there on a blue shad crankbait (The same one in my picture). I lost the bait a couple of casts later, something underwater cut my line. That really made me mad, since I didn't have another one. I wasn't getting any action on the other two colors I tried in the coves, so I headed to the riprap around the dam and tied up a Crappie colored crankbait, as that was the closest thing to a shad that I had left, and ended up catching the other eight on that lure. Today I am painting up two more "Clinton Lake Shad" lures, similar to my Crappie pattern, but with more of a shad style to them. So, I guess it's not much of a secret anymore, but hopefully that will work for you.
  5. Fished Clinton Lake in Clinton, IL. today. It's my home lake, and I don't really fish it too often for bass until lately. I caught 11 fish total, including this 20" 4.5lb'er, as well as a Smallmouth, which aren't caught all too often in that lake. All fish were 14" and up, except one lone 10"er. All fish were released quickly after the photo. I was using one of my own hand painted crankbaits to catch these fish. It's hard to take a picture by yourself with a cell phone!
  6. Sad thing is, that's a really simple paint job. I've made one pretty similar, and caught six nice bass just this past week. I've sold quite a few lures on eBay in the $4-$8 range with paint jobs just as good. I don't get the hight dollar amounts because I don't start with $20 lure bodies.
  7. What type of problems are a quick fix by using these? What should I ask them about if I go to look at it? Thanks!!
  8. Whats the problem with that? They make them for as small as 15hp motors.
  9. This boat is being offered local, and I was just wondering what you guys would pay for it...I'm thinking of making an offer, but would like an idea of what its worth. 15' Glastron bass boat. Includes a 28lb Minkota bow mount foot control trolling motor with maximizer, color depth finder, roller trailer with guides, power trim and tilt, large live well, good storage, starting and deep cycle battery. Riverside Sportland tested the motor and it is in good shape. Good 2 person fishing rig. My other problem is that I just bought a 14' Lund fishing boat with a 9.9 merc that I have about 60% restored, and would need to get rid of that before I buy this boat...Too bad I didnt see the Glastron about two months ago! Thanks, Matt
  10. I have a boat trailer that is galvanized...I am wanting to paint it with Krylon spray paint. Would that work, or will the paint fall off? Should it be primed first? Also, is this paint usable on aluminum? Thanks, Matt
  11. Can you paint fiberglass? I have a white and blue fiberglass bayliner I would like to paint black. Can it be done?
