  1. my sizmic weights have a loop on em for the hook to go through, how could it be held any better?
  2. hold on tight, these are very productive baits. keep t riggin them, when you get on the bass, they'll keep bitin' em 8-) BTW, pm me your profile pic that got deleted ;D
  3. baby brushhog white spro frog 8" lizard black and blue finesse jig with matching paca chunk trailer white fluke hand poured by the one and only G-man shallow crank medium crank deep crank kuttail senko big swimbait
  4. i just like the idea of the weight going in first. ensures it'll get through whatever instead of my brushhog gettin hung up before it gets a chance to break through the mat
  5. just picked these up for flippin mats and am surprised i haven't heard anything about them here. the weight is under whatever plastic i'm using instead of rigged on top of it. anyone used these and if so, are there disadvantages?
  6. 1.5 oz weight for a carolina rig? for what reason? you fishing in 100 ft of water?
  7. i think it'd be an ok idea to see if they are biting there, but don't spend too much time there. more than likely those fish will still be stressin out, if anything you'd catch fish that were released there in more previous tournaments. i'd get out and do some finesse fishing in other parts of the lake. sorry to stray, but tournament fishing is starting to leave a bad taste in my mouth. taking bass from all different parts of a lake and releasing them all in one spot just seems like it's raping the balance of a lake. And taking a bunch of females out of an area that would have otherwise givin birth to more bass improving the population in a certain area is shady to me. bass get to know the area they live in, best route to deeper water and all the prime ambush spots, etc. just seems like we're disturbing the balance
  8. i'm getting really discouraged by statements like these... "For every dozen cranks one randomly chooses, on average, three will excel, three will never work well and the other six will only ever be average. This doesn't apply only to the bargain bin baits. Price is not a factor here. You will get lemons in every bunch of high-dollar dolls too." how much validity do you veteran anglers give to that statement? Russ bassdzers words
  9. what a nut
  10. i would have taken my child out of that school after that.
  11. ^^^^that's hilarious. believable too
  12. why do you not like the ultrasoft?
  13. thats some clear water Franco, one thing we don't get in the big mud hole of mississippi. BTW the first pic is one ugly crank. did it pick up any decent bass for you?
  14. I'd get out there at sunrise if you could and throw your frog and lizards around main points till the sun comes up. i know all lakes are different but when that sun comes out you know they're gonna take cover under lily pads and other types of cover providing shade. Others move off the banks and suspend themselves on deeper ledges where you can experiment with crankbaits of different depths. also if you have a depth finder, take some time to look for deep structure near those stumpfields and pick it apart with big *** worms or a weightless fluke. i would work on 3 the older the day got as it looks like the deepest part. good luck dude
  15. trust me, all you need is any texas rigged worm. preferably junebug with a 1/4 oz weight. cast, let it sink all the way to the bottom and gently drag and hop all the way back to you while remaining contact with the bottom. looks like a neighborhood lake where I like to bank fish, and i slay em with brushhogs when all else fails. every now and again i'll catch one on a crankbait or beetlespin, but the texas rigged plastic is my all time quarterback when bankfishing.
  16. catt, you don't fish mornings do you
  17. When someone talks about tuning a crankbait, what all are they doing? I've heard of bending the eyelet on a CB, but what else is being tuned?
  18. cool thanks, just ordered a bluegill shallow crank and a 8 ft diver threadfin shad in blue and silver. expensive little buggers. i'll post a review after i use em a while. geez i wish they had a jointed shad crank like your herring one
  19. what do you guys think about these cb's?
  20. who sells the dolive in the us?
  21. coulda been posted already but thought i'd share anyway http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/07/21/missouri.world.record.catfish/
  22. do those exist?
  23. if you have to fish into the wind, you gotta use a weight. Depending on how hard the wind is blowing dictates what size weight you need. I would suggest fishing from a spot you can cast with the wind if you wanna fish weightless.
  24. from where?
