  1. or even have Glenn Dorsey and Joseph Addai back for a day. i'm watching todays game with an alabama fan. not sure how much of a good idea that is :-[
  2. its true. they even say on the package that the more the hook enters tissue the easier it is to penetrate. i use the owner offset shank wide gap for most of my plastics and use more of a wrist hookset than a hefty, violent one. it only takes a little to drive those points in and very rarely have fish come off. its like a hypodermic needle with a barb
  3. sexy lipless. would you consider that a rayburn red? i want one
  4. interesting. i was gonna guess that was a speed stick, but the ribs right above the reel were suspicious. nice fish. what'd u catch her with?
  5. that'll shorten a week day. i absolutely LOVE those short handled rods. what kind is that one?
  6. no i mean what were they selling? it wasnt an abu commercial so...
  7. Dwight you make me sick man
  8. what was the commercial for?
  9. sorry its not my photo, but it is a photo. i wanted to start a thread to show the folks here but just thought i'd stick it here. kinda bizarre, up close it looks like Einstein till you move back slowly, then it becomes Marilyn Monroe. if you wear glasses, remove them before you do this.
  10. where did you catch it? never knew they were here either. you in north miss?
  11. yep, gizzard shad. seen huge ones pulled out of the spillway at the reservoir i fish
  12. its all about maui jims when fishing. stingray in amber lenses. i like the weight on them, also very rigid so no worries on durability
  13. yeah...better stick with the day job. nice catch red, good thing he didn't bite on the 1st cast
  14. because its the contrast that catches their eye. to me, dark lures in murky waters work best for me. its all about catching their eye. not saying chartreuse doesnt work in murky waters. whether they bite or not depends if theyre biting, not whether or not they like the colors.
  15. i agree with the environmental cues being suspect. when i'm coming off plane, pulling up to my first spot of the day to throw a lure, its not complete without some timberwolf. or sittin down to make bears sparks an urge every time. chillin out on the couch after a big meal certainly encourages a dip. if we could just train ourselves to notice the urge right when we have it and ask ourselves what did i do or think of that sparked that urge, we may could retrain our brain to think in a different direction the next time that urge comes along. easier said than done huh :-X
  16. Sorry to hijack, but how do people know that bass bite cause you switched colors? How do you know you just weren't throwing in the right spot, or the fish weren't there coincidentally till you changed colors. Same with changing lures. If you throw a spinnerbait without a bite, and change to a shakeyhead and get bit, was it because you changed lures, or because a few bass showed up?
  17. joke of the day
  18. I posted this for the photo contest a few months back that J won. I like the soft, pastel look. Pic taken at Calling Panther Mississippi.
  19. you could also use a trailer hook. they work wonders. also, do you have a bulky, plastic trailer choking your hookset?
  20. white spro all day. oh and Ribbits in baby bass
  21. i was gonna say the same thing. just edit your post if you find you have more to say. its all about captain crunch IF you let it soak up some milk (whole) for a second before you eat it.
  22. No. I never went. i didnt do anything. get off my back!
  23. Are you letting your plastics sink and sit? You gotta cast (preferably a bama bug game hog ), then allow it to fall straight down. Crawl that thing slowly along the bottom. Two or three inch increments, and every now and again give it a gentle pop with your wrist. Be as tedious as your patience will allow. It should take you five minutes to reel it all the way in. i promise, you'll catch em if you're casting where they are.
