  1. the reason you dont feel the bite is because its floating slowly, and a bass knows he's not going to have to exert himself to grab it because the bait isn't going to try and escape or fight back. the bass just lets it land in his mouth. one of the more difficult things about fishing for me to learn was letting a bait fall directly vertical yet maintaining a feel with the bait without it swinging towards me on the fall. it's nearly impossible in the wind, especially fishing weightless.
  2. some good readin (sorry, had to use this smiley. Loved jessica rabbit) and welcome http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/jig_bass_fishing.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/jig_uses.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/jig_bass_fishing_tips.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/deep_water_jig_fishing.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/jig-fishing-specifics.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/jig-fishing-for-bass.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/bass_fishing_jigs.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/bass_fishing_jig_tips.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/horizontal_jigging.html
  3. whatever man, i know your riggin a shiner up and just hangin a rage craw from their mouths for all these pics ok im jealous
  4. get you some of these https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-FROGS.html?from=basres and rig em on these http://www.***.com/Zoom_Horny_Toad_Hook_2pk/descpage-ZHTH.html just chunk and wind
  5. ive popped my lady in the ribs settin the hook in my dreams before. not good gentlemen.....not good.
  6. i like to just make sure to keep em from jumpin. i bury my rod tip in the water, keeping him low. he knows exactly what he's gotta do to throw the hook. as far as the hook set, i've gotten in the habit of a slow motion side arm hookset, putting a decent bit of pressure on the fish and lettin him hook himself.
  7. pinching causes a mess. when you let it do its thing and it exits in one piece is when you dont have to use tp
  8. last year a member here posted pics of bass he'd caught on a white shoe string to prove it was about the one holding the rod, not the bait used. can't remember who it was
  9. beautiful man. that got my heart going. thats exactly whats been killin em for me lately...swimmin lizards through pads this time of the year is too much fun
  10. for the 5 people who voted for the tp hanging off the back of the roll, pm me for logic
  11. dang man that bass chew your finger tips off?
  12. i still catch a majority of the fish that hit it, but i loose a bunch too cause their grabbing the tail and running before i set the hook. if i think they've only grabbed the tail and let em take it a while before i set the hook, i end up throat hooking them. i want a weedless trailer hook for lizards
  13. i thought winter was over
  14. I was actually curious about the trailer rigging for the 8" zooms I use. I get a lot of bites where they just grab it by the tail and run off before they actually gulp it down. I wanna set the hook soon and avoid throat hooks
  15. I like Wanderlust's suggestion. Those bandit100's are just as effective. That rookie Brandon Paulinic (however its spelled) was catching em with those right next to kvd during the classic
  16. I picked a couple packs of these up at academy today for 2.88 a pack. I've always fished zoom 8 inchers but Im thinkin that tail will whip around a little more in that dirty water I fish. Any unbiased opinions out there? Also what's the best way to rig one of those trailor hooks on a lizard? Seen em before attached to the main hook with line running through the plastic, or along the side of it or something. Thanks in advance
  17. whats the weight on this jig? what kinda line? i wouldnt use an extra fast rod for that. you may need something a bit more stiff so you can move some line upon setting the hook.
  18. that is cool. as long as i sit at some of the dam lights in my town, i'd love to have it like that again.
  19. i dont touch my jerks till dead winter or summer when theyre sluggish. i basically fish them with the same patience as a worm, just at different depths in the water colomn rather than the bottom.
  20. another fan of the game hog. its gotta little bit bigger profile than zooms brushhog. if you find their appendages stick too much to the cover on its way down, then a zoom grass craw or even a grass jig will get you through there
  21. it may be a screw up, but thats how it should be.
  22. hey man thanks for posting, i needed that
  23. why does it say "kicker" under my avy?
  24. the funnest is pullin a ribbit over the pads. then swim a lizard through the pad stems alternating depths to see if you get more bites. the dirtier the water the bigger the lizard. good luck. my favorite cover to fish
