What I did to help with the hook up ratio, was take a pair of pliers, and bend the hooks upward away from the body, not alot, but just enough to where there is a little more space between them and the frog body. I don't know if it actually makes a big difference, but it gives me the confidence of allowing the fish to get hammered when I try to break it's back on the hookset.

Can I swap the gears out from a 2009 Premier 6.4:1 from a 2011 7.1:1? I want to use the 2011 for cranks/lipless and the gear ratio is just a tad bit too high. I will use the 2009 with the 7.1:1 for worms and creature baits. I could easily swap the reels to different rods, but I am digging the color match of the 2011 with the Veritas and want to keep that aesthetic look TIA

On Cavitrons, I've never put on a trailer hook, mainly because I slow roll it that the fish are so set on hitting the bait, that it would not be necessary. Now if I were to burn it back, then maybe I would add a stinger, since the bait would be moving alot faster.

I picked up another Premier, and paired it up with a 7 M Verdict. Let me tell you.......OOOOOOOHHHHHHH MYYYYYYY Those two are made for each other, exceptionally light for AG, colors match between the two (irrelevant to some) and they fish very very very well with each other.......I say go AG VERDICT in 7M

Ahhh, Steez, often imitated but never duplicated ! Com'on where are the bashers, its a 5.4 oz lightweight reel that costs a boat load of $$$. Heaven forbid someone enjoy a little pleasure while fishing with something nice. 8-) 8-) 8-) hahaha...I knew I could get you to join us here ole buddy..... I REALLY like the Steez line, especially when I get to get my gorilla paws on yours The price tag that is on it, deters me away, but in no way do I have anything else bad to say about the STEEZ line of reels

I'm barely 5'9" and I use rods in the 7' range. It doesn't matter, you will get used to a long rod in about 10-15 minutes Fish more.....stress less

Cross ventilate to aid in the air flow. Maybe pick up a cheap box fan, and place that in the open window eithere pushing/pulling air, then have your shop fan next to the garage door either push/pull air. Just a thought

Well I received my Verdict yesterday. I will post pics later tonight. First impressions, pretty light, slightly tip heavy when holding the rod pointed down, but once I held it upright, it was feathery light. I put a Premier on and toyed around for a few minutes. It balances pretty well, but the real test will be on the water. So I'll have to wait a couple of weeks if not longer before I even attempt to get on the water. Here are the pictures:

Sean, I've read that "OTHERS" have found them to be finicky (I apologize if my thoughts may have been misleading), but that could be attributed to that reel being the first baitcaster that they've owned, or they not know how to properly adjust a bait cast reel.

Like David P said, the STX and Premier. I have a STX-HS on my 7'3 rod and Premiers on my 7' rods also, he is right about the weight balance. The STX reels are a bit heavier and the longer rods seem to balance alot better for me also. The Abadabadoo reels may not be everyones cup of tea, as they are somewhat finicky on the initial setup. But once you get them dialed in, they are a dream to fish with. I've only owned AG reels personally, but have had the chance to fish other setups. For what I want to spend, the AG reels fits in nicely

I got to check em out a few months back. Put a reel on it and messed around with it. Didnt notice any 'rough butt' thing at all. The rod balanced very well. Personally I dont intend to adjust the butts at all, Im a big guy so I dont really need to shorten the rod butt. Besides I have other reaction rods for cranks, top water, and rip baits. One thing you need to keep in mind. The Verdict is a V rod, as are the Vendetta and Veritas. They are the same, but with different carbon quality. The Nano technology is neat stuff and allows them to make the rod blank thinner, while maintaining and increasing strength and sensitivity. Id suggest you check em out for your self. I also reccomend you take the reel you intend to put on the rod. Mount the reel on the rod, run the line through the eyes and then you can check it out. If you dont have any casting plugs get one and tie it on. Its the next best thing to fishing with it. I've looked at the Veritas, and thought that it was just another Vendetta with different colors and different end caps, so I was not overly impressed. I chose to get the Verdict based on a few peoples review and the higher micron rating 30 to 37. I picked up some casting plugs this weekend at Dicks's so I'll be out in the front yard like the commercial casting and flipping

I have two Premiers and STX-HS. I've got to say that the Premier in my hands feel so buttery smooth from the cast to the drag. I have the 09 models so I can only imagine how the '10s cast. I learned how to go through them and clean out the assembly gunk and let me tell you, that made a HUGE difference. They are a good reel out of the box, and with a little TLC they can be better. You don't have to go overboard with a supertune, as the bearings are pretty darn good as they come. Alot of people do not like them as they do not fit the palm of their hand, and that is just ones preference. I have my STX-HS paired up with a 7'3 MH Vendetta and my Premiers with a 7'0 MH and a 6'3 M. Let me tell you, all of them can launch any lure I tie on a backwoods kuntry mile. It does take a little getting used to and getting them dialed in, but once you do, you will be in lovefor what you paid for your setups

Rough butts.......never mind For my style of casting, I only hold the very end of the rod when casting. So if there is some kind of texture on the blank part that extends, it will not be an issue. With that said, I wonder if it has some kind of texture to allow it to be held in place when it is either extended or retracted?

i just placed my order for a 7' MF. I've been waiting to order rod for a while. I'll be sure to get back with a review as soon as Texas gets out of its winter cold

I've got one and have had it over a year. Fished with it exclusively for about four months. It was ok for twitching weightless senkos. I've since moved on to AG Revos (premiers and stx) it is an ok reel especially if I need to have an extra combo for a buddynthat wants to tag along with me.

It has been upgraded with a TONNEAU cover :-X ;D
