  1. Chartreuse Sexy Shad, Chartreuse Shad, Sexy Blue Back Herring, Sexy Shad, Chili Craw, Bluegill
  2. She is a chunky monkey...Nice catch Big-O
  3. I am loving those red chatterbaits also....By chance, is it G-14 classified on the brand of those?
  4. Don't think that just because one particular color or presentation should be thrown at a particular time of the year. Go against the grain at times, and find what works. Some used to say that chatterbaits were a cold weater/weather bait. I threw one from Jan to Dec last year, and I caught fish everytime I went out. If you got them in your tackle box, use them. They will not catch fish if they don't get wet, and you get to say that you caught such and such on this and that at this particular time, and you may get amazed that it may be your PB. Fish more....Stress less
  5. I've uses snaps on 1.5s, 2.5.s, 5XD and 6XD, and I've not had a single failure while using them for about 5 years now. I've pulled back to back 6lb'ers on a 6XD with a snap. I do tend to play the fish out a little more, and try not to horse it in. Anything can be done, if you take your time and be patient. Think of all the big bass caught on light line and spinning tackle.....Just my .000002
  6. I use the palomar knot on mine. I'm rigged up with 55lb power pro, on a dobyns 766 flipping stick, and I can walk the bait with no issues.
  7. Awesome, thanks Dwight. I will be able to save a little bit, as I already have the frams/lenses, I just need to send them in to get my prescription done on them
  8. Dwight, Would you mind sharing what the costs were to get your prescription done by Costa? I am looking to get a pair done...THANKS
  9. I fished a chatterbait from Jan 1 2015 to Dec 31 2015 and caught fish in clear muddy milky water. I do like the ZMan ELITE as it comes with a 5/0 Gamakatsu hook. I normally load mine with a LFT paddle tail swimbait, and last year started added a dab of superglue when I slide it on to give it some added holding strength. Besides the middle section getting ripped off at times, I've not had one slide off the keeper. FISH MORE....STRESS LESS
  10. I jumped into the 1911 arena recently with the purchase of a SA Loaded. Straight out of the box, this thing shoots amazing. I was not ready to spend $1k on a firearm and I was able to find this NIB at a local dealer for a good price. Check out gun broker to find the best deal. I took it to the range a week after picking it up, and between my Browning HP, I didn't know which one I had more fun with shooting. Pretty tight groupings on the first mag, and the second mag with double taps still tight.........DON'T SLEEP ON THE SA LOADED First mag Second mag - Double tap I've since added a Wilson Combat magwell and a couple of Chip McCormick 10 rd mags and CM base pads to the stock mags. These were out at 15yds
  11. The last three years, I've thrown 1/2 ounce chatterbaits on a Duckett Micro Magic MH 7' rod, on a 6:4.1 AG STX with 15lb Seaguar InvisX fluro. I've thrown it from winter to spring, shallow to deep. I've gotten to the point that I wait for the fish to give me a couple of tugs before I set the hook, and that has worked best for me.
  12. I will jump on the Costa del Mar applause wagon, as I've had a pair for 3 years now, the 580G in Auburn color. They are some EXCELLENT (imho) sight fishing glasses, and also for just wearing on bright sunny days, even with a slight overcast they work really well. I also wear them while driving, cutting grass, and even a time or two going to a outdoor gun range. They are not the lightest pair of glasses out, but to have a pair of sunglasses with FULL glass lenses are excellent. The glass lense offers much more clarity than a poly (plastic) lense. Also as someone else has mentioned, the LIFETIME WARRANTY. I've read other reports that they've had to send them back, and if that style of frame is no longer in stock, they will contact you and send you your choice of equal value. Now to me, that is a big 10 thumbs up as far as customer service goes.
  13. I'm heading to the lake now........a blistering 41 degrees here today I do like these crankbaits, I may have to pick up a couple
  14. I like to use the zmann chatterbait elite in 1/2 ounce in bluegill with a Lake Fork boot tale swimbait in 4.5" in watermelon red or sun perch. I've caught more fish with this combo and the size of fish has increased.
  15. I tinker around a pond that is the same way as you described. Punching/frogs as mentioned by the previous posters is the way to do it. I have a Dobyns 766 flipping rod I use that I approach these two tactics with. Also I am using 50lb power pro as my choice of line. When punching I am using a 1.5oz punching weight with a #5 gamakatsu flipping hook with a SK Rage Tail structure bug. And then if I am using a frog, any hollow body frog will work fine in that situation FISH MORE.......STRESS LESS
  16. At that price of $31 for two spools....that is regular price for two spools of 50lb PP here.......
  17. if you are having issue with the 1/8oz chatterbait....try moving up to a 1/2 ZMAN Elite.......don't be afraid of the larger size, it will catch fish
  18. Nice vid.....I have a 766 flip and I can say that this rods sensitivity is PHENOMENAL.......Using it to punch you can feel everything that is on the other end, ever twig, branch, stem, root that you are punching through. I've not fished with any other rod for this technique, but I think it would be hard to beat
  19. Nice catch and fish....looks like it is getting close to fall feed and it is getting a head start on fattening up for the cold weather.
  20. You can also pick up a Revo STX Gen III for $150
  21. I've been having some really good luck with the Z-Man Elite in 1/2 ounce in bluegill, rigged with a Lake Fork Boot tail in Watermelon Red Pearl...... http://www.***.com/Z_Man_Original_Chatterbait_Elite/descpage-ZMANELT.html#multiview http://www.***.com/Lake_Fork_Boot_Tail_Live_Magic_Shad_4pk/descpage-LFTBLMS.html#multiview
  22. That is one thing that I learned about bass fishing.....Always try something out of the ordinary. Don't just keep using what has worked in the past, do something you would never think of. I caught a few fish early this spring by throwing BIG worms over flats, and that is normally a WARM water tactic I use. Always give them something different, and the results could pay out big time FISH MORE....STRESS LESS
  23. OFF WITH HIS HEAD............ I JEST.............I JEST
