  1. Before the RES it was a Rat-L-Trap. But now i fish mainly the RES and XCalubur. So many options between the two.
  2. My favorite is blue craw and green pumpkin but there's so many great ones to choose from. Alabama craw and candy craw are my second favorite. I've only used Rage chunks and Paca chunks as a trailer. Seing what Catt posted im going to have to try the bugs.
  3. Zman Project Z for me as well. If I'm fishing shallow it's hard to beat a Strike King Rage Blade. From my experience it seems that trailer choice makes the bait.
  4. As a licensed HVAC tech I've never seen one make that noise. That being said if it's only in heat mode it has to be a component used during heat. Does it make that noise during cooling or indoor fan only? I would suspect induced draft motor as others. Bearings do funny things when they start to fail. To trouble shoot it I would wire it up direct sending power just to the draft motor and see if it makes that noise. If you replace it make sure you get the felt type gasket lined up good. Without it flue gas could escape and that's never good. It's only 2 wires and rubber tube that goes to a pressure switch. I've seen dirty squirrel cages make a furnaces scream and shake due to the ballance. If you decide to dig in it be careful as 110 volts can be very dangerous. Killing power is a must via unplugging the unit or flipping the breaker. Most furnaces have a door switch that prevents unit operating once doors are removed but voltage will still be present from your whip to the switch.
  5. I've been using a Abu Garcia Veritas 2.0 Winch 7'11" Extra Hvy paired with a Lews LFS SSG1S 5.6:1. I really like the combo. Under 200$ before tax. As for line I've been experimenting. I wasn't a fan of braid for this application but i know alot of guys really like it. Copoly has been the deal for me. P-Line CXX moss green 20lb has done wonders for me. I also throw swimbaits and big cranks on this setup. 8XD, 10XD ect... I really want to try a 300 series reel next spring.
  6. I've been using the 3.8 on the back of a swim jig and fish head spin with good success. I mix and match the 3.8 and 4.8 on the A-rig. I rig them with weighted swimbait hooks.
  7. I really like the RES. I usually change the hooks though. I also like the oval split ring. Xcaliburs are great too. After a hour of smashing white bass it seems like the paint holds up well compared to the RES.
  8. Challenging for me is finding a pattern pre fishing for a tourney then to find out the pattern is no good come tourney day. We chase smallies in alot of lakes i fish here. You can catch a limit in one spot in ten minutes then the next day they are gone. Exciting for me is of course seeing my line jump or having one knock slack in it. I fish some lakes in the Arbuckle mountains and it's not uncommon to see a bald or golden eagle time to time. I've seen an osprey grab a 12inch smallie one time and fly off.
  9. I've been using baby rage craws and zoom finesse worms as of latley. Fish them slow as possible. Light line and medium to medium light action rod for me. I throw anything smaller than 3/16 on spinning gear.
  10. I've had this happen many times with a snelled straight shanked flipping hook. Mostly on dinks. If the hook won't pop out easy I will pinch the barb to remove it without causing more damage to the fish. Cut it off and retie new flipping hook. I always pinch the barb on the wide hap finesse hooks when im wacky rigging. Those things can be a bear to get out. Everything else i leave the barb.
  11. #1 SK 6XD Chart Sexy Shad #2 SK Heavy Cover Swim Jig, Menace trailer
  12. Jt Kenney and the ledge master Mark Rose
