  1. Sch 40 pvc and usps. Do click and ship and print your own label because the PO doesn't know how to measure tubes. I sent a 3.5"x8' insured for $1000 a couple months ago for $35
  2. I'm building a set of walleye trolling rods and they will be spiral wrapped. If nothing else, it keeps the rod from flopping over in the rodholder due to the weight of the reel.
  3. I mix up the 2 parts and put it in a syringe.
  4. I usually put about 2x the labor that I actually charge for on my builds. I'm too picky about stuff, so I take more time than I should.
  5. My 6'10" Eternity is still .41 oz. lighter and my 6'10" NFC is .35 lighter.
  6. Why do people drive a BMW when a Chevy will do the same thing? What can $400+ rods do that a $139 rod can't? ......make me happy! I like nice rods. I have 3 that are under 3oz. You'll never find anything close to that for $139.
  7. They are made with the same graphite but they are not the same blanks. Mojos are rolled in St Croix's Mexico facility. The Avids are rolled in Wisconsin.
  8. I wasn't impressed with them either. They felt geary to me. I still have one because I built the rod to match the color scheme of the reel. I still use it, but it's not as enjoyable as my other reels.
  9. 2 custom St Croix SCVs, a Rainshadow Eternity and a MHX HiMod
  10. Sounds like you got a lemon. My buddy is a full time guide in NY and has been running a 112 Terrova since 2016 on his boat.
  11. Jealous of those PVB rod lockers. Here's a lowly Mr Pike locker.
  12. My bottom row is useless. It only holds rods up to 6'6". Top row says up to 7', but I can get 7'2" in the two middle tubes.
  13. Had to change a tip on a rod last night and no amount of heat would budge it. I used my dremel with a cut off wheel to carefully split the tube on 2 sides and then the tip peeled off like a banana
  14. Never held the Megabass, but from the build quality of the Conquests I've handled, I'd take a Megabass sight unseen
  15. I'm a shallow spool guy. My dropshot reels have 10 yards of backer and 50 yards of braid.
  16. My guess is inadequate adhesive on the original glue-up.
  17. That would be a urethane arbor. Injecting the glue while spinning the seat to distribute the glue around.was the proper thing to do.
  18. Drill them on the underside of the seat, where the reel will hide them when it's installed
  19. I prefer full grips, but on my drop-shot rods, I use split because no put the weight keeper behind the front grip, in the split.
  20. My buddy and his wife drug their small boat down to Erie to school me and the wife in the ways of the Lake Erie walleye. Good time was had by all...... except the 'eyes. Once he got dialed in to the program, it didn't take too long to get our 24.
  21. Hard to beat a Fuji ECS for comfort.
  22. I absolutely hate SK seats. The couple I did use, I made an acrylic insert, which did make it more comfortable.
  23. I glue my arbors in the seat. Once cured, I chuck the seat in my lathe and bore to the required diameter. Very little reaming required.
