  1. I don't care if bass are busting on top around me or not. I like to start my day with a buzzbait, and i don't put it down until they quit biting it.
  2. Have you tried an A-rig? If they are chasing the minnows, it might just be the ticket...
  3. I have costa 580p lenses, green mirror. Excellent, Light weight, all day comfort. Prior to these I had the O brand for two years. They were nice, but I'm blown away by the Costa! Certainly worth the money.. My advice: Go to a store (Bass Pro, cabelas, sunglass hut, etc) and try on as many pairs as you can! I have a big noggin too, it was a challenge finding a pair that fit right.. but now I have a quality pair of glasses that are comfortable all day long.
  4. Welcome! I'm south of canton. But portage is one of my favorite lakes.
  5. If you were to allow me a single bait for the rest of my life, the tube would be it. I think the versatility is VERY underrated. There are a myriad of retrieves for a texas rigged tube. Swimming, hopping, & yo-yo retrieves mimick a bait fish... dragging & hopping retrieves can mimick crawfish... throw one on erie to mimick goby... or peg the sinker, & you can pitch and flip these things into the gnarliest messes you will find. Weightless, dropshots, Carolina rigs, you name it! If I'm fishing, I have a t-rig tube on one of my rods. It's my confidence bait. Throw it anywhere you would a worm, or a jig! Green pumpkin is my favorite flavor. I use it 99% of the time. When the water is super muddy, I may switch to black.

  7. Assuming that the plunger is spring loaded, the rod portion of the plunger will go completely into the tube, the rubber portion on the inside will be pressing against the grease with the aid of the spring... Once the grease gun is back together & before putting it on a zerk fitting (grease fitting), it helps to pump it relatively slowly until grease comes out of the tip... If you are pumping for a long while ( I would say more than 20 pumps equals a long while) and no grease comes out of the tip, pull the plunger back out and take grease cartridge out to make sure the end of the cartridge isn't bent up.. this will prevent the rubber from applying pressure to the grease.
  8. Welcome! Lots of info on the site, but I'd start here: Im a Tusc county guy
  9. I have tried both, but im more comfortable with braid and a fluoro leader. I do not think it hinders the action on the fall. It is a little tougher to feel the bites, on just fluoro. Keeping my finger in contact with the line helps.
  10. I use a 1/0 VMC offset worm hook, and peg the 1/8th Oz sinker with a bobber stop. Those hooks hold the TRD pretty well.
  11. Signed up n here for the bonus!
