  1. Hey guys, I have a tournament this weekend on Pawtuckaway and have never been there before. Anyone have any good past experiences with the lake that they would like to share?
  2. Good discussion point. I agree with everything you said, Nate, except I think that the problem in NH with tourneys is the fish being put in live wells. Yes, recreational fishermen put pressure on the fish, but keeping a bass in a live well on a hot day for multiple hours, even with additives and ice, usually does not leave them in good shape. It may not be directly harvesting fish from the lakes, but it definitely has some health consequences for the biggest 5 fish that tourney anglers catch throughout a day.
  3. Mainebass, my buddy Colin who is on this forum sometimes (clr9933) fished the Champlain Bass Series last summer and is doing it again for 2015. Sound like its an awesome series of well organized tournaments
  4. During these frigid winter months, I know you are all wishing you were out on the water catching excessive amounts of obese bass. Since most of us are not (unless we frequent the power plant), I put together a video of some of the better fish my friends and I caught over the past 2 years. Enjoy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-S90wk-6uA
  5. 10 fish an hour is great for any tiime of year, especially when the water is in the high 40's. I will be trying a few last times this week before taking the boat out for the season, and will post if I get anything picture worthy.
  6. Wow! Great season, Bob. I got out on the water yesterday afternoon and managed 3 keepers in 3 hours. A 5-11 and 4-11 are seen below, and I also caught a 3-0. The presentation had to be very slow to get a bite.
  7. Congrats on the PB, Jitterbugger! That is one big girl.
  8. Seeing a fish like that come from NH waters is the coolest thing I have ever seen
  9. Had a great evening on the water tonight. There was steady wind while the sun was up, and I managed a 3-0, 3-1, 3-4 and a 4-9 largemouth. All came in 5-6 feet of water, near the bottom with a bluegill pattern swim jig + rage craw trailer retrieved very slowly. The second the sun started falling behind the trees, the wind completely stopped and it was like someone turned off a "feeding switch". I wasn't able to get back on them after that, but will try again tomorrow.
  10. If I were a bass in southern Maine this weekend, I would be terrified.
  11. Got out for 2-3 hours this evening and fished a hollow bodied frog, jig + rage craw, and a squarebill crankbait. Only managed one bite the entire time, a 2 pound 8 ounce largemouth on the jig + rage craw. Has anyone been seeing bigger fish moving shallow yet?
  12. Northwood has been crushed with tournaments lately. I had one there 2 weeks ago, and the fishing was very tough for everyone. Not so much for me on Northwood, but Chatterbaits have been my "bait of the year" so far for 2014. Ive been pairing them with a rage craw or rage rooster for a huge profile and its produced well.
  13. Got out yesterday afternoon for the first time in a while. Fished for an hour and only got 1 bite, but luckily it was the 1 bite I was looking for. Got it in 8 feet of water on a chatterbait with rage rooster trailer. This was the first time I have seriously disagreed with my scale, which said it only weighed 5 pounds 14 ounces. Still a satisfying catch.
  14. Check it on on the Navionics website and target areas that have some drop offs. http://www.navionics.com/en/webapp-limited. I fished a tournament on Pleasant Lake last weekend and alot of the smallies were caught in 12-25 feet of water on Carolina Rigs and Drop Shots. Shouldnt be too much different at Nubanusit because they are both super clear water. Good luck.
  15. Just an FYI, Milfoil was found in Baboosic 2 weeks ago for the first time, and people are verrry protective of the lake. Since I know there is no public access, I would be careful of where you are fishing from, because people wont hesitate to call the cops for trespassing now that they think someone else brough in milfoil. Just giving you a heads up. Looks like Nashua Nev gave some other good options in the area too...Nev probablly knows the bodies of water around your area better than anyone, so hes a great resource.
  16. I have parked there and walked into Pinnacle many times to fish. I have caught a few bass, both smallmouth and largemouth, but nothing of size. It is difficult because there are trees around most of it, except for small openings every 150-200 feet. I see tons of torn senkos in the water there too, so it definitely gets some pressure.
  17. Fished a tournament on Sunday at Whitehall Reservoir in Mass, and it was a real tough day of fishing with lots of sun, high temps, not much wind, and more boats per acre than ive ever seen. I only managed 3 keepers, and the heaviest 5-fish limit of the tourney was only 7-14. P.S. nice fish NEJitterbuger!
  18. I fished a tournament on Merrymeeting yesterday. Water temp was 50 and despite my lack of success, many people did well. Smallies were moving more shallow and starting to get active.
  19. WOW Mainebass...were you on Falcon Lake on Saturday? That is one incredible day of fishing.
  20. That thing looks like a green cinder block with a lateral line! Nice fish.
