  1. Around these parts its Watermellon Red.
  2. I plan on fishing our NW Florida Winter Trail this year. Our winter temps can dip into the 20's with the average temps around freezing. What fishing gloves do you folks recommend?
  3. I can't count how many times a Senko has saved the day. I was pre fishing Seminole for a tournament a few weeks ago and the bite had shut down. Both I and the co-angler in the boat could not get anything to work; I tossed out a Senko and immediately hooked and landed a 7 pounder. I let the fish dictate what they wanted and ended up with about 22lb for the day. Like any bait, there are times when fish will eat them and times when they won’t. The Senko will always be a tool in my box.
  4. $6.99 ea. Really?
  5. Most of our lakes down here in the South are covered in grass by the time the water hits the mid 70's. Guys are fishing the Skinny Dipper and killing them . They are fishing it both weight less and with an 1/8 oz weighted hook.

I will second the LC Pointer. I fished the SP97 out of the back of my buddies boat on several occasions. I would catch about three to his one. Awesome baits.
  7. This thing is still anyones game. Two weeks ago our highs were in the 40's, tomorrow we will hit 80 with increasing South winds, heavy fog, and a full moon out during the day. The fish will constantly change patterns over the next two days. Should be interesting.
  8. What kind are you referring to? I have used the soft, hollow body baits with fair results. My goal is to use them more this year and become more proficient with them.
  9. The only issue with it is when you read the "fine print" they share your information with solicitors to add to the list of "I will call you during dinner, spam you, and send you tons of junk mail. >
  10. Just getting started, 48 years young.
  11. Have you seen Ike...LOL
  12. That is most likely the best $100 you have spent. Congrats and have a great time.
  13. What a shame, he is one of the best anglers of all time. It is about targeting specific market segments and let's face it, one minute your hot and the next you are not. When your not you don't generate hype or sales.
  14. Man I bet alot of poeple who spent the night in their vehicles would like to speak to AL Gore. More like an Ice Age than Global Warming.
  15. BINGO, Florida anglers listen up, unless of course you are using SHINERS. Water temp has held in the mid 50s to upper 50s in most bodies of water I am fishing now, and my catch rate is LOW, VERY LOW. Hopefully this warming trend kicks start the bite, but unlike Rolo I get away from unproductive water and hunt, duck and doves for fun when the bite is slow. I live in NW Florida and our winter water temps are consistently in the high 40's lower 50's and fishing has been pretty good. We have the best luck on suspending jerk baits, small tight wobble cranks, and of course shacky heads, flick shake heads, and drop shot rigs. The problem is not the bass being cold, it is the anglers, after all, we are in Florida.
  16. For clear grassy lakes and ponds my go to bait is a watermelon Fluke. If the grass is a bit deep I will add a nail weight.
  17. How was the couch? Soft I hope...LOL
  18. I fished Lake X last weekend and as usual the grass was thick. I located the grass that was holding the brim. Swam a lightly weighted mag Ultra Speed worm through it. When you feel the hard vegetation let the worm fall, then pull it up and through the grass. The bass would load up on it as you pulled it free. Kind of like bumping a crankbait off stumps.
  19. I just stumbled upon this site. Looks pretty informative with plenty of resources. A little about myself. I am an active duty Navy Warrant Officer (20+ years), and a licensed fishing guide. I have 35+ years of fishing experience. My two favorite types are flats and bass fishing. I look forward to many good conversations and sharing experiences with other members.
