  1. You didn't read down far enough. In nascar, the Busch League was thought to be a sub-par league and so the term was often used to individuals familar with the league to describe sub-par actions . Your definition carries far more scope and historical reference for sure, but Busch League is a term used by many to describe something sub-par. Whats confusing is that it happens to have similar spelling and identicial phonics to your term. Regardless, I appreciate the link you posted earlier, it is much appreciated.
  2. We have always called it Busch League. Not quite the same thing and their origins are seperate, but their meanings are synonymous. http://www.*/define.php?term=busch%20league
  3. There were some breaking issues early on with the flipping hook, but they have since been resolved from what information has been given regarding the issue. I don't believe you will find a sharper hook out of hte box anywhere, but bent tips and dull hooks after multiple fish seem to be a continuing occurance. I dare say common because I don't know the numbers of hooks sold compared to the number of issues occuring. However, like mentioned above, it appears to be a continuing issue that either hasnt been resolved or is of such low occurance or commonality that Trokar feels it unecessary to publicly address.
  4. Thanks for the link JFrancho. PS, i think you meant Busch League. Nasty beer, just like those pictures I suppose
  5. Not trying to impress anybody. Secondly, I dont worry about the slime coat as much as others, not after seeing numerous bass rub themselves on underwater timber and watching them tear their tails apart during spawn. The pictures were taken for an online tournament that I am in, they werent taken for your enjoyment. If I wasnt in the tournament, I wouldnt have placed them on the ground alongside my rod and reel for size verification and we wouldnt be having this discussion. I'm sorry that you are offended because sand was on a fish in a photograph that I took. Please accept my apology for offending you.
  6. VERY CLOSE Goose! Actually it was a Bill Lewis Rattle Trap, Chrome/Blue Back The spinnerbait was a Northstar Custom Baits Pond Series in Shad with a YUM Money Minnow as a Trailer. The 4+ was a Strike King Red Eye Shad. The Rattle Trap was lost to a bass that wrapped up in a tree and so I tied on the R.E.S. and it filled in nicely.
  7. Not sure what you mean or are inferring by that comment. Hopefully you catch and release as well.
  8. THanks guys, I appreciate the comments. All of those fish were released, I rarely keep any fish at all. When I do keep them, its not until the late summer months, and even then its nothing over 2 lbs. I must say though, it's hard to remember to bring everything you need when you are fishing between work shifts. Much to my finger's dismay, I even forgot my pliers, my fingers bore the burden yesterday and got stabbed quite a few times A towel is a great piece of advice though, I appreciate it a lot. It will keep the fish cleaner and the rods and reelsout of the sand. I don't feel like buying new Curados anytime soon
  9. Fished for 45 min on lunch today and got pretty lucky. Lipless and spinnerbait 3.41 2.44 4.21
  10. Glad to hear it. Be prepared, the bites can sometimes be pretty violent
  11. Similar to what was mentioned above: When you realize that your plan of attack isn't producing as well as you would like, what is the FIRST thing you change? Color, Lure, depth, etc.
  12. Rebel F4901 Minnow
  13. LFT Live Magic Shad YUM Money Minnow ZOOM Fat Albert Single Tail Grub The list also goes for Chatterbait Trailers
  14. ZOOM Horny Toad Bullfrog ZOOM Ol Monster Redbug Berkley 10' PowerWorm Watermelon Red Flake and Junebug
  15. thanks for the information guys, I appreciate all of your input.
  16. Thats more expensive than buying them outright from what I can tell. .32c each if you go through him (before shipping), .31c if you purchase through Academy at the regular price of 2.49 for a pkg. of 8. Again though, thats assuming you have an Academy in your area. Thanks for the Ebay heads up though, I wouldn't have thought to search there for soft plastics, great idea!
  17. no, I havent tried them. I just did a search online and the $2.00 isn't as "dirt cheap" as I thought. Apparently, Academy regularly has BBB's for 2.19-2.49. Looks like the bait monkey swindled me again. Oh well, gives me a new lure and possibly a new technique to learn.
  18. I don't have the reciept anymore but it was right at $2.00 for a pack of the 4" YoMama in Kiwi at a local Academy.
  19. Eco does polish and round the edges, including the I.D. which keeps lines from fraying, not sure about the others but I'm certain a few of the higher end ones such as Tru Tungsten do as well.
  20. I picked up a bag of the YUM Mighty Bug as well, just looked too good to pass up. I havent had a chance to try them but I will most likely be using them as jig trailers and texas rigged plastics. It just looks like it will displace a lot of water, but I wont know until i get to see it in action.
  21. I've never really had a use for Beaver style baits but I found some Big Bite Baits Yo Mamas at a dirt cheap price so I figured I would give them a shot. The problem is that I have never really fished them seriously before and I am unsure what the general conesus on presentations for them are. I am assuming that they are great for flipping/pitching, as well as jig trailers or jig baits minus the trailer such as on a football head jig, but I really am not certain at all. Of the various techniques and presentation styles applicable to this style of soft plastic lure, what have you had your best success with?
  22. hrm, prices have gone up I guess. For a while, they were by far the cheapest, especially when shipping was free. I revoke my prior post, haha.
  23. Eco Pro Tungsten. Insert Free, Free shipping over a certain amount, and cheap.
  24. I perfer the Horny Toad and Ribbit as well, but the Rage Toad has produced some really good fish for other people so it must be doing something right. Over the few months that I fished with it, I found that the Owner 5/0 Twistlock worked well and some left over Mustad 4/0 Swimbait hooks with a plastic keeper (actually larger than my Owner 5/0) worked ok as well. I did have some issues with the lure flipping over, but like others have said, it was usually because I rushed the lure attachment to the hook and got a little sloppy with it. When I took my time and made sure it was balanced properly, the Toad ran straight for me and rarely topsided or rotated continuously. What the OP wanted though Owner 5/0 Twistlock Mustad Swimbait Hook 4/0 (Really more like a 5/0 or 6/0)
