  1. Dude, those things are SICK! Let us know how they work!!! Do they float with a hook in 'em?
  2. Great color pattern! Keep it up!
  3. Tryin' to work on better cranks.....
  4. What swimbaits are better than the Giron for the money? I haven't found any.....
  5. Just crank down and swing hard. The braid dosen't stretch like mono, so as long as the rod tip is stiff, it'll hook 'em.
  6. Wasn't a honey hole before this trip. I had only fished this place 3 times so I'm still learning it. But I'm happy with the results so far. As for a location, ya - OK ~ it's way up yonder past the caution light - there's a little country store with an old Coke sign - be sure to stop in and ask Miss Bell for some of her sweet tea - then a left will take you to right to the ramp. hehe A-Jay The fish of my dreams comin' back to me........
  7. Those look just SICK!!! Great work
  8. Or you could just wrap brown 2mm foam around a hook shank and tie it off with some brown 6/0. It floats and can absorb scents.
  9. Very nice!! Great story.... Looks like the wacky worm is goin' on my Smallie List!!!!!!!
  10. I've done good with 4" finesse worms, SENKOS, Booyah Pond Magic, Spro Bronzeye Jr, Snag Proof Mouse, Heddon Torpedos, Storm Subwarts, and anything that imitates a frog or bluegill. (Oh wow.... I guess thats my list.... LOL When the fish are on the banks they're lookin' for those two things nine times outta ten.)
  11. LOL. We all just need to fish more often.......
  12. Most of the time I throw them and buzz 'em back like a buzzbait. I save the twitchin' stuff for Spro's and the like.
  13. 7MM-08 is 100% correct. At least a MH rod with braid will get you 3X the fish most days. Although I have caught fish on a M action plastics rod..... Don't suggest it though.
  14. I've used both, and am still stuck on the ribbits.... They come in floating, rt dont. They have quite a few more colors than rt, and seem to plain at a bit slower speed.
  15. A couple others have mentioned them, but I'd put some money into a good shallow crankbait. I'd recommend a Copper Perch colored Lucky Craft RC 1.5 one knocker. Its expensive, but it really pushes the water, casts a mile, and can work through some of the thickest cover available in the timber dept. Cast it parallel to trees and bring it back up. When you feel it trip over a branch, give it a little twitch, then keep reeling. Check your line often and never go below 10lb. test. Don't be afraid to throw it ANYWHERE that wood meets water. Other good cranks in this style include the Cotton Cordell Big O and Storm Big Bass Square (Which are discontinued, but available at some Wall Marts for just $3.00.)
  16. I finally caught a frog bass!!! After bein' on the lake for almost the entire day, and tellin' my partner I'd out fish him, things were lookin' horrible. I'd lost a 4-5lber after it jumped and threw my jig, and missed a 16 incher on the same lure (wakin' it over heavy weeds). We finally pulled around a corner into a little cove, and I told myself, "I may not catch a fish the rest of the day, but I'm fishin' the frog. Bring it bass!!" I tossed the lure onto a rocky point and hopped it off. BOW!! Fish hit it, but only grabbed the legs. Three or four casts later, BOW! Fish hits, but it instantly takes all the slack outta my line and feels me before I can set the hook. Another three casts, BOW! Frog goes under, I wait a second, then cross its eyes. Fish on!!! After I got it into the boat I just Iked it up. Couldn't stop talkin' or laughin'. I had told my partner a couple casts before that if I could just get one caught, I could probably figure the froggy out. I was right. I caught five fish, all over 12", two over 15" in an hour. I probably could have caught more, but I was on a schedule, and had to leave. But after two years of tryin' and cryin', I finally caught a frog fish. Or five. BOOYAH!!!
  17. I'll be lookin' into 'em. Thanks. Raul- If you have that many probs with Japanese baits, just send 'em to me. I'd be happy to dispose of them properly.... LOL.
  18. Thanks guys. I hadn't thought of it bein' a Swimmin' Senko knock-off..... And I was hopin' it would be a lower priced substitute for a hollow belly...
  19. I've never heard of this bait before. What do you guys think. $3.99 for 5.... Nice colors. Looks interesting.http://www.***.com/Gambler_Big_EZ_/descpage-BIGEZ.html#pImage

  22. Thanks guys!! The help is appreciated.
  23. When you said spot, where you talkin' about a Cotton Cordell? Thanks for the reply. The XR-50 looks like a nice bait.
  24. Thanks for the response. I've been lookin' at the Red Eye, but was hopin' for somethin' different. Will give it a try though. Thanks.
