  1. I'll be trying them. Do I expect them to be revolutionary? No. Are they a cool concept? To me, yes. Just my opinion
  2. I have thrown the Spro Bronzeye since they came out, and have tested them against many of the other brands on the market. They are simply better, in my opinion. They cast well, walk well, and hook up well. There is one frog that has out done it though, the Megabass Pony Gabot frog. It's an incredible frog, with an amazing action and that "it" factor that just flat out makes it get bit! It does have it's disadvantages, mainly the price and it's thinner, softer body which has a higher risk of tearing, along with the slight difficulty to acquire, but it is without question, better than any other I have thrown.
  3. Gorgeous reels, especially the Fuego Does the CC knob on the Fuego handle clikies?
  4. 1. Fish waters that can and do sustain big fish 2. Have confidence in whatever rig you are throwing. That starts at the lure (Size, color, action, terminal tackle, etc.) and continues through the line, rod, and reel. 3. Get the lure in front of the fish. Slowing down is one way to accomplish this, but accurate casts and an accurate working knowledge base of the fish, the fishery, and the habits of both is also as useful.
  5. On the T3 1016 they are not riveted. Did you get the T3 Ballistic or Ballistic XS ?
  6. Really? I've maintenanced several Quantum's with the Flippin' Switch and never had too many issues. Frustrating yes, but not what I would anticipate the Twitchin' Bar being
  7. They're still around in a few places
  8. Now THAT is a gorgeous combo
  9. And probably somewhat easier to acquire in new shape too... Thanks for the idea
  10. I can imagine, especially with the Twitchin' Bar assembly They still look good enough that I consider picking one up every now and then.
  11. Very nice! And a great approach as well, it's much more difficult to lose parts this way versus a flat surface I have always loved the look of the Vientos.
  12. I own one, and use it. I don't really like it, but I don't have a reason to hate it either. If you have room I'd opt for one that allows vertical storage of the lures without compressing the arms
  13. I have dabbled in the big baits off and on for a while, and I'm finally looking to pick up a dedicated setup. I already have the rod, now I'm looking for a reel. What I'm looking at is a lightly used Gen.1 Revo Winch, which I would also use to throw cranks. I'd be keeping the lures under 2.5 oz, but I want to make sure I'm not tearing up a perfectly good cranking reel. Is that too high to go on the Winch? Thanks! -Bass Junkie
  14. As has been said before, spool the reel yourself. This eliminates one variable immediately. Besides, I wouldn't let anyone from Cabela's handle my reels As far as line, I have used the Sufix Elite and I was highly impressed with it, especially as an upgrade for Berkley Trilene XL. Then I bought a spool of Sunline Super Natural. The difference is astounding, with Sunline having the smaller Diameter, the higher abrasion resistance, and much less memory. Since then I've purchased three more spools for the end of last season, and going forward all my reels spooled with mono will have Sunline Super Natural on them
  15. They look very similar to the Jackall Cross Tail Shad. If they produce anything like the Jackall's they'll be on my list for sure
  16. Yumbrella Flash Mob Jr. The Lucky Craft Bevy Rig looks oh so tempting though
  17. It's basically a Sure-Set treble. I'd stick it on the back of a crank and roll with it
  18. I know you didn't mention them, but I'd be checking out the Drop Shot models in the new Daiwa Tatula line
  19. On the Ducketts, it won't
  20. One of the last FLW Magazines had a small article regarding this. If you have access to past issues 'd check it out
  21. Geico can save you 15% or more on car insurance
  22. I believe my locally Wally World harbors a few packages of 8's for around $3.50/package. Not sure how many are left at this point.
  23. *** has done a review of them. Personally, I really like the concept, but it's nothing revolutionary. The design is similar and components should be very close to the same as the Bronzeye Frog, so I can't see it performing much different. Not that that's a bad thing
  24. I personally really like the Net Bait chunks. They're reasonably priced, have a great action on the fall or swim, and if you can't find one in a color to match your jig..... As for trailers other than netbait, I'm digging the Berkley Havoc Rocket Crawand Yum! Craw Papi,as well as the Money Craw.
