  1. First make sure the line is tight on the spool, let all the line out in the water and rewind it, try some line cond. KVD has one. Next set your brakes, your reels have 6 spool brakes set 4 on and try that also make sure the cast control on the side of the reel is set so the bait will fall when U open up the spool and let the bait fall to the ground without the spool overruning. Maybe buy some new line, I change out my line at the end of every year.
  2. Yes the PQ has 5.4: 1 and 4.7:1 I have a set on order will post what happens. Patriarch with 5.4:1 or 4.7:1 for some deep cranking !!!!!!!!!!
  3. I have a Patriarch wide spool reel, it has 6.4:1 and I need a set of 5.1:1 gears, will a ABU Revo winch gears fit ???? or any other ?????
  4. I fill my reels about 85%, about 1/8 from the top. Also braid line must be as tight as U can get it on the spool, at the end of the day I will let out all the line and reel line as tight as I can for the next day.
  5. I have to say the REEL, I use braid 100%, braid will make any ROD have good feel, casting and the power to bring in a deep driving cranks is the ticket for me.
  6. If U are having alot of backlashes with braid, U need to have the line on the spool as tight as U can, at the end of the day fishing braid I will let out all the line on the spool and rewind all the line back on to the spool as tight as I can.

Canada, Costa Rica, Mexico, South America and the rod tube I use is the Plano Jumbo Airliner, I had a Flambeau it lasted for about 2 years, my Plano is 4 years old. Here is a tip, wrap a boom handle with your rods it will make it harder for them to bend them.

  18. I use the BEARING BLASTER with Gumout and then soak them in Acetone and then dry the bearings with a blow dryer and add 1 drop of HOT SAUCE OIL to each warm bearing, after that I will spin them by hand.
  19. I have used HOT SAUCE OIL and Grease on all my reels from my Conquest to my Steez reels and Hot Sauce will last for weeks in the bearings and the grease will not spray off the gears, also in the cold of Oct/Nov in MN it will not freeze up in my reels. TACKLE TOUR forum, most use it over on that forum. I like to use one brand of oil and grease and Hot Sauce works for me. I did try some OUST BEARING OIL and this oil is very light and I had apply it more than HOT SAUCE, but I think I will use it in some of my Steez reels that I have TG ABEC 7 CERAMICS in.
  20. HOT SAUCE OIL & GREASE is the Best !!!!!!!!!!!! :)
  21. If the blank is CLEAR WITH NO PAINT wet sand 400 - 1000 to get the nick out then use U40 PERMAGLOSS for the finish coat, apply 2-6 coats wet sand 1500-2000 and buff out, will look like new, if your blank is painted, match paint and do the same as above. GOOD LUCK
  22. U40 PERMAGLOSS :-? :-?
