  1. I'm not a fan of fluorocarbon lines either and have tried all of the lines mentioned. I used to use YZH and still do somewhat but have used the Gamma Polyflex and prefer it over all others. It has a larger diameter than some but is very low memory. I also had issues with Fluoroclear breakage but the other P lines were ok. Give the Gamma a shot, I've switched several people over after trying it. Let me know your results, Thx Ron
  2. I plan to fish this on a NRX+ 904C MBR also. Do you have problems with hookups and how is the durability?
  3. Anyone fishing the sleeper craw. Any tips, likes or dislikes. What rods and lines are you using? Thanks for your insight.
  4. Fishing Bull Shoals next week during the cold front. Fishing out of Pontiac, anyone have any recommendations or been there recently? any info would be appreciated.
  5. Planning on making a fishing trip to Sugar Lake, Mexico. Getting conflicting information as to whether auto and boat insurance is required. Anyone know for sure what is required and the best way to comply. Thanks in advance for any information in this matter.
  6. I have that rod in the Legend Tournament Bass series, and it is perfect for what you are looking for. I use it for those exact applications. It has a very flexible tip, decent backbone but be aware that St Croix's XF is a lot faster than most other rod manufacturers XF. The MXF that RW recommends is a great rod also, but for the lighter, (more finesse applications), I prefer the ML.
  7. RI Kinky Beaver skin hooked
  8. I used Sunline Super Natural this year on a crankbait set up, and a top water set up and really liked it. I would recommend you try it but use the line diameter as a guide line instead of pound test of the line. I am looking forward to trying Sunlines' Defier but it is a little pricy for a mono. Let me know how you like Super Natural, as I think you'll like it more than the old XL.
  9. I believe the trebles are size 5 as I know they are on the Spro MD, but I'm sure a 4 will work fine.
  10. I'd have to say the Gen 2 Revo Premiers.
  11. As already stated there are many good choices for a crankbait rod and most folks will have more than one depending on the depth, lure or presentation being used. I have a St Croix Avid 7' MHM rod and it comes as close to an ''all around'' crankbait rod that I know of. Take the reel that you will be using on this rod and put it on as many rods that you can find. See what feels best to you as it's all about personal preference. So many options, good luck in your search.

  14. I've owned gen 1 premiers and a sx, and fished with the gen 1 and 2 stx's and a gen 2 mgx. My favorite reels are the gen 2 premiers which I own 5 of and currently use. I agree with Jeb2 as if were to buy a new reel it would be the gen 2 premier. As far as the boat rash, can't help you there and it's mine only beef against the Revo line, But I'll take preformance over cosmetics any day.
