  1. Just call abu. The gen 3 schematics never show up on the site for me either.
  2. Fuji guides are stainless steel not aluminum. If it didn't break when you straightened it you should be fine.
  3. A fishing reel does not require specialized lubricants, only application appropriate ones. There are tons of threads suggesting what to use where.
  4. Neither power or action have a direct correlation to sensitivity but they aren't unrelated either. For example you'll lose contact with an 1/8oz hair jig fished on a flipping stick. If you use common sense and match and balance all the components you'll have all the sensitivity you need
  5. A slower action can help protect light line during last second surges of if you hook into something bigger than the target species.
  6. I get $7.50 plus parts for single foot guide replacement.
  7. That's what it sounds like. Will you DIY the repair?
  8. No, a leader knot will damage a guide. I'd fish straight braid in this case though.
  9. A #4 guide will pass an Albright knot joining 50# braid to 15# leader with no problem. Micros will not cause line slap. That's dictated by the reduction train (first 3-4 guides). Properly employed, they'll maximize sensitivity by lightening the tip section.
  10. Their biggest advantage is consistent performance when reels are changed. I use them as a selling point but not as an up charge
  11. some models tolerate over lubricating better than others but that and thorough cleaning/flushing are always where I start. If you can't get it out of the case flush with Simple Green and rinse with hot water. Let us know how you make out.
  12. There's just too many variables to assign definitive cause and affect of tweaks in presentation. It could just as well been a timing thing. We can only guess what's in his heart and mind.
  13. Every company employs human beings hence mistakes will happen. The frequency and resolution are what separates top shelf companies. I'd contact St Croix and see what they say.
  14. Braid on light sinning tackle is for line management and sensitivity. Nothing to worry about at all. Over loading a rod within reason is safe as long as you don't do snap casts. Retrieving heavy lures may feel labored.
  15. Moving fish with your rod is much more efficient as well
  16. Pflueger president is arguably the best bang for the buck.
  17. Try WD40 followed by simple green then then the CLR as a last resort
  18. I throw them on a spinnerbait setup of appropriate power either mh or h fast.
  19. The spool tension should be set so the spool stops when a free falling bait hits the ground. THEN set the brakes and expect to always need some thumb control
  20. The way I read the op the drag should have slipped before anything was damaged. If you want to contact me directly I'll do my best to help you figure it out.
  21. Replacing the guide is the "right" fix.
  22. No, you got $700 worth of rods for $450. "Warranty " often gets confused with replacement program.
