  1. I really dont subscribe to the slower is 100% better theory, maybe in certain situations like heavy cover and the strike window is small. I often dont want a fish getting a good look at my bait, and reacting. My favorite buzzer, (and Ive tried tons) is the secretweapon lures brand in Black, with a colorado blade in 3/8. You have to reel it a bit quicker than others, but in clear water I'm convinced it gets bit better.
  2. All but one came on jigs. The fish drew has in the pic came on a crankbait.
  3. When you say stocked, do you mean from a fish hatchery? If it has been only 3 years, even in Florida the short answer is there may be no real hogs in there. Alot of people have no clue how big an honest 5-6lb bass is. At any rate thats all hear say for us sitting at computers miles away. The only way your gonna figure it out is time on the water. Blindly chucking larger lures will help, but learning the depth, cover, bottum composistion, etc will put you on big fish consistantly. Are you limited to the shore? If you can put a boat in with a depthfinder several times throughout the year you can really dial in a place. You can find out alot about a lake using live bait also.
  4. I was pretty upset earlier this year about it. The TT's were gone and the S.K.'s werent available yet. I ended up finding a local store (green top sporting goods) has sourced their own and have them 10 in a bag $5.00. Tough to beat that. They have the lighter weights which alot of the companies dont produce.
  5. Your right, I have the first model they released the "lizard dragger" blank. Its a great spinnerbait/buzzbait rod. Really light and comfortable to fish. The power of the blank is fine, just more of a moderate fast than a fast action.
  6. Yeah like I said we got a limited amount of pics on the first day when when we got into the mother load. The pics posted first were from the 2nd trip. Unfortunately we werent able to get but a few pics on the epic day as the one phone we had with us petered out around lunch time. I didnt get a pic of my PB >. We did weigh and measure length and gerth as they got bigger. Drew might come on and clarify, but I want to say his fish 26''?
  7. At this point Its between the veritas/verdict. Have you gotten a chance to fish a verdict to compare the two? I cast jigs just as much as I pitch them, at what point is lure weight on the H too light to load the tip? A lot of lakes I fish are algae choked and light jigs are needed at times. From what I gather in these lineups a MH may be better for me. Id really love to hear from someone who's fished both of these rods that can compare.
  8. Im glad you enjoy yours man, but I already own a mojo (7M plastics rod) and wont buy another. It performs okay but it balances pretty bad and Ive had issues with two of the guide inserts falling out. It actually has turned out to be a great shallow crank rod oddly enough.
  9. Hey guys. Im in the market for a rod in the 7' range MH-H power fast action. With a soft enough tip to pitch/short cast finesse jigs (1/8oz jig plus trailer). Budget is $100 +\ -. I purchased a 7H falcon bucoo for this purpose last year, I like the rod but it aint fast enough for a jig rod. Im really likeing what I hear on the 7'3'' veritas, but I can get the verdict for $80 (veritas for 70). The veritas feels more balanced to me than the more exspensive verdict (Balance is important to me) But Id love to get the added sensitivity of the verdict. If you were buying a rod just for jigs, which way would you go? Im open to other suggestions as well.
  10. All I'll say is depending on where you are in Powhatan you may be very close
  11. I usually run about 8'. Keeps from having to retie as often as I usually trim a bit of line with lure changes.
  12. Got a few more pics resized. Heres two including Drew's Monster.
  13. Good work dude! gotta love this time of year in VA!
  14. The Iphone has single handedly saved ATT and also has caused alot of their bad rep. Over the past 4-5 years more people have constantly streamed pandora and other heavy data streaming apps on their phones than other carriers and it caused problems on the ATT network. Thats why carriers have scrambled to limit data packages. The Tmobile sites will really help handle more volume. Verizon's network is worth watching as more and more people use smart phones (and more data) on their network. Both ATT and VZ are very aggressively spending money to improve.
  15. Thats good advice. One spinning rod, a 7'M fast action fenwick handles all my bass and occasional crappie needs. My style of fishing requires more BC setups.
