  1. Thank you for the nice welcome to the forum. To answer a couple of questions: The fishing in the great NW has been good to us this summer, the smallies have treated us real well! I caught my PB at our June tourney in West. WA -- a nice 4.1lb and had a 2-day total of 9 fish for 18.2lbs -- took 2nd place! My husband took 1st with 25+lbs his best smallie that tourney was a 5.2lb (there were 29 competitors) It was a kick -- those smallies put up an awesome fight. Eastern WA has been good as well, if you can stand the 100+ temps, my husband & daughter brought home 4th place (and a nice check) from a NW Bass tourney with 66 teams! (his partner bailed at the last minute--2 lines are better than 1 so our daughter got a crash course on drop shotting & went with him). My husband is not on the forum yet, but we discuss things I've read and strategies that may work for our upcoming events. He loves the fact that I have embraced this sport, especially since there's never a disagreement in our house about upgrading our gear, boat, truck, camper, etc . . . makes for a good time but don't you guys worry--he gets plenty of time to fish with the guys just for fun and at the more competitive tourney's. (Secretly--it would be a blast to beat him out of a 1st place trophy, hopefully the information here will help me to accomplish that at some point.) NoExcuses
  2. Madhouse, The Skeeter #'ing system usually indicates the HP size of the motor that was on the boat originally, not necessary the length of the boat. For example, we've owned a 1991 SD200 Skeeter which was 19'+ with a Yamaha ProV 200. Our current boat is a 2004 ZX225 Skeeter 20'+ with a Yamaha V-Max 225 HPDI. I would imagine that the 1993 SS140 you're looking at came originally with some sort of 140HP motor. Also another thing to consider -- if you're planning to fish tourney's -- you may not want to run a 18' boat with only a 115HP. We used to have a 1993 Nitro 180FS (18') with a 115 on it and when we started fishing tourney's we found it just couldn't keep up -- that's when we switched over to our first Skeeter ;D Hope this info helps.
  3. Hi there -- I'm another gal that has embraced the sport of bass fishing and have been having a blast fishing club level tourney's with my husband. This forum has a wealth of awesome information.
  4. TO ALL , We just discovered that our "totaled" 1991 Skeeter DX200 is currently for sale at Angler's Marine on Pacific Avenue in Spanaway, WA for $10,500. and it has NOT been repaired of the fiberglass damage to the hull that was quoted to us at over $12,000. The owner of Angler's Marine said he would contact the guy that brought it in on consignment and have it removed from their lot -- so it will probably show up on another boat lot before long . . . please get the word out for those looking at used boats to have the boats looked over thoroughly by a person who has nothing to gain from the sale. We would really hate for an un-assuming family to end up with this boat that should not be on the water in it's current condition. The guy who brought this in on consignment obviously has no regard for the safety of others and is simply trying to make some quick money. The registration number on this boat is WN 5751 NC, it has a 1991 Yamaha PRO V 200 on it. Angler's Marine currently has pictures of it on their website under the used boat section page 2. We will be checking with the WA DOL to make sure that their records show that it was "totaled" in 2003. Please spread the word around so this damaged boat doesn't end up in the hands of an innocent party. Lyle & Andrea
