  1. Just wondering if anybody uses or has ever used the Castaway Skeleton rods and what you think of them. I live in Texas and would like to support my states economy by buying from a Texas based company.
  2. i use either 50 or 65lb power pro and have never had a problem with it. usually if you're fishing with a frog, you have enough cover that the visibilty of the line is not an issue.
  3. In your opinion, what is the best line(mono, braid, flouro, brand, and weight) to use for Texas Rigged? Thanks to all that answer!
  4. Definitely Space Monkeys in any color!
  5. Very nice fish! What lake were y'all fishing in?
  6. Buying my first boat next month and don't know a whole lot about fishing Toledo Bend. Live halfway between Center and Hemphill. Bout 10 minutes from Huxley Bay. I've read this whole thread and while very informative, there is nothing like hands on training.
  7. Hey Catt, fishfordollars told me that I need to talk to you if want to learn to fish Toledo Bend. Just wondering if you give any personal lessons? lol
  8. I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a hard rod case for transporting my rods AND reels in the bed of my truck. Don't always fish out of my boat and need someway safe to support them. I'm looking for it to hold at least 4, preferably 6 combos. Not looking for a case just for rods. Need it for rods and reels. Thanks.
  9. IMO the best "combo" you could have for $170 would be a 7' MH-F Shimano Convergence rod with an Abu Garcia Revo S. You will not be dissapointed with this setup.
  10. I am definitely a Abu and St. Croix guy. Although I do have a few Carrot Stix and Shimano products, lately I have steered more towards Revo and LTB combos. They feel perfect and perform flawlessly!
  11. IMHO you cant go wrong with Carrot Stix. I have 3 of them and fish them all 3-4 times a week. Never had any problems with any kind of breakage. Very sensitive rods with good backbone. Fish what feels good.
  12. Thanks for all the help guys. All the information provided was very useful. I'm steering more towards the X-raps due to Rapala's reputation for quality products but will also try the LC pointers. Have a buddy that swears by the Rogues, so will probably give them a try too. Tight lines to all!
  13. Trying to broaden my horizons and get into jerkbaits. Just wanted some opinions on where I should start.
  14. i pretty much agree with this combo. hard to beat at this price range. have several mojo bass and revo combos and wouldn't hesitate to buy another.
  15. it's hard to beat the carrot stix!
