  1. I finally replaced the standard seat and bracket with a 3/4" pedestal base. I just removed the swivel bracket from the frame, and mounted the pedestal base with the same 4 mini U-bolts. Now I can use the same seats I use in my bigger boat. It is so much more comfortable, and my back definitely likes it.
  2. I chase the wife around the house more. I never have and never will ice fish.
  3. Only a Favre fan would believe he doesn't love and crave the media attention. Gimme a break.
  4. I knew there must be one person out there that still likes Favre.
  5. OUCH!! I never had the balls to fish out of one of those.
  6. I made another small improvement to my Bass Raider. I had a scrap piece of 1/4" luan plywood and some indoor/outdoor carpet, so I glued the carpet down and laid it in there. It added very little weight, and it is much more comfy with the flat, carpeted floor(since I'm usually barefoot in the boat).
  7. Yeah, all you can do is ask. If they so no, so be it. I fish at a local business who has 2 sand pit ponds loaded with bass. Years ago, I just stopped in and asked if they ever let people fish their ponds, and the owner said sure. The only requirement is catch and release only, and I stop in each spring for a new "permission" card.
  8. Hey, you stole my idea. Mine is exactly the same. I also added a piece of carpet runner on top of the 2X4 so it's non-slip. It works great.
  9. I agree. Try to find one with a floor width of 48" wide. If you can't, a 42" wide floor would probably be OK.
  10. Thanks bilgerat. What's the oval shaped gray thing in the front?
  11. Do you need to have exceptional balance and agility to fish out of a sit-on-top kayak? Is it possible for someone with back problems to fish out of a sit-on-top kayak? (Seating comfort, getting off and on, etc). Generally, are kayaks or canoes more stable? Thanks.
  12. A flat bottom will get you into shallower areas. Assuming the same length and bottom widths, a flat bottom is more stable. BUT, the stability depends on the bottom width. I've tried a couple that were 32"-36" wide, and they were too tippy. Mine is 48" wide on the bottom and I love it.
  13. You should also consider a flat bottom jon boat. You can start out without a trailer and see how it goes. It may get old quick without one.
  14. Zoom Trick worm. I've tried fishing a jig, but I just can't get it.
  15. A catfish on a buzzbait. That's weird.
  16. Cool. But that's a bluegill, isn't it?
  17. Not me. I much prefer the Zoom Trick Worm.
  18. Thanks Sippi. So, are you happy with the dolly? Don't the angle braces(between the pontoons) interfere with the bunks? Do you think I should build one for my 8' Bass Raider, or go with something else?
  19. Thanks Sippi. How many inches are there between the 2 bunks on the dolly? Don't the angled braces between the 2 pontoons(underside of boat) interfere with the 2 bunks? Are the 2 bunks 2X6's? I'm trying to figure out how to build that dolly.
  20. I posted a pic with the dolly that I use in the pics above, real easy to use. Found it through a youtube video that had a link to their website. But can be easily constructed. Thanks Sippi. What's the overall length of it? Would you be able to post a couple pics from different angles?(maybe I could figure out how to build one). Are the wood pieces 2X6's? Any other help on materials, sizes would be great. Thanks.
  22. Does anyone have any pics of a dolly/cart to use with the 8' Raider? I saw the pics of cBooms, but I'm confused by how it's used. Thanks.
  23. It says the pics are too large. Does anyone know how to reduce them?
