  1. I have fairly heavy spinning and baitcasting rods for bass fishing. Also I have the standard bass tackle gear. My friends keep inviting me to fish for trout in the local creeks, and i've never been. would I need to string light line on my spinning reel and buy some smaller lures (rooster tails, etc) or are there things in my bass tackle that would work? I'm clueless.
  2. from the top button of my shirt to my inseam, its 24". and I'm 6' 2".
  3. wow. now i have to get a digital scale! I was sure that thing was 5+. it def was 20" plus. regarding digital scales, do you put the big hook in the gill slit or in the lip?
  4. How big is my fish? I figured him for about 21-23". I put him at 5 lbs when I caught him, but when I got home I lifted a 5lb. weight and an 8 lb. weight, and reconsidered putting him at 6lbs. fyi, this is best bass i've ever caught. totally makes me want to buy a digital scale.
  5. I've only been fishing for 3 seasons but literally all my big fish (4-6 lbs) have all come on a large buzzbait.
  6. I just started bass fishing, and I am learning on my own. today a caught 2 small bass. juveniles maybe 10-12 inch 1 pounders. So I grab them by the bottom lip as I've seen fishermen do, and they have very fine rows of teeth. like very rough sandpaper. and its digging into the pad of my thumb. I assume this is normal, but I wonder if I should be grabbing beyond this row of teeth on more of the bottom of the mouth? also wonder if some species of bass of sharper more defined teeth than others. thanks. happy to find the board.
