To sorta echo Ghoti, it's best used for tieing directly to the eye on topwaters and shallow divers like the Floating Minnow. Be sure to coat it in saliva (spit) before cinching it up.

Kent, it'll work in a pinch but, the correct stuff is better. If you must use it, I would recommend the gel as I have sucessfuly removed tip tops that were applied with it. Be forewarned, though - it may take the finish off with it. I would really only consider the option on a rod with a broken tip. Rob

I think most attractants are like alchohol and only get better (or more potent) as they age. Now, if we were talking Doe Urine, that would be differant. You sure don't want to smell that after it has spent a summer in your glovebox. Voice of experience! :-[

Hey Dave. That looks pretty good and I think you're on the right track by backing the stencil away from the body. When I was building model planes and wanted a thin line like an oil leak from an engine, I used x-ray film. If you know a doc or nurse, they should be able to get you some 8 x 11 exposed sheets ( if they say that they can't because of Patient Confidentiality laws - all they have to do is remove the name from the corner of the shhet). Cut your desired stencil into the plastic and use doubled-over masking tape to raise the stencil off of the surface. Lower the pressure on your airbrush as much as possible and make several light sweeps, a minute or so apart. The raised stencil will let some 'overspray' under the edges for a softer line.

SoFla, that sounds a lot like the borrow pits that I fished in MS as a kid, and isn't too far removed from the bluffs that I now fish in a man-made lake in the Ozarks. I'll bet that if you follow those 'dropoffs', you will find that they decend gradually. These are the 'roads' that the trucks climbed as the pit deepened. Hence the stair effect. This vertical structure can be very attractive to fish. Your bottom conditions sound very much like good craw habitat, especially with the rocks. I favor a long rod (7' MH F) to throw a jig a good distance and work it S L O W L Y down the steps. You will know when it falls. Don't take in line... let it fall and follow with the rod tip. Worms rigged TX are a good choice, too. Leave the weight loose - don't peg it - and stay at 1/4 to 3/8 until you get deeper than 30. A slow fall off of each ledge will tempt a pickup. Cranks are also a good choice if the fish are active and you can work it paralell to the drop at the depth that you need. Always remember that Depth and Speed outweigh Color!

Dang it, Mike. Tulsa is a long way to drive for Sunday beer. :-? I wish I was still 11 years old and fishing a one acre forest pond in Mississippi, It was late July and hot. Until it started to rain, nothing. Then, the buzzbait started get hit almost as soon as I pulled it off of the bank and into the water.

On the rod fourth from the top, it's hard to tell from the pics if those silver spots are bands or wraps. Either way, it looks good (all of them!). I'd fish it.
