  1. yep that is a very nice fish congrats.
  2. i think you need to leave you dont belong here!! well i wondered when you going to post anything, NOW GO!! (its my brother everybody)
  3. i think your best bet is just find an outsider (non mechanic) thats knows a lil about them and let them try to help. i try some local mechanic shops round my way and they dont work on them and from what i hear its not cheap to work on. have you ever check your carbs?? you might just need to soak em in some cleaner like 2+4. or just run sea form through the gas. if want to check, check your drain plugs under each carb and see if its gooey. thats what was wrong when i first bought my boat the carbs was so cake that it wouldnt throttle. a buddy took them and soak for an hour or so and man the boat would punch. i had a 70 on my 16 thundercraft tri haul and it ran bout 25-30. but than after 2 years i blew a ring. got another motor that i no runs (was a friends) but i might have an ignition problem it wont even try turning over and when checked with jumpers it does turn over . so i dont know right now,
  4. your a good man looking out to help others lol.
  5. congrats on the catch.
  6. congrats!! hard work pays off!!
  7. nice!! and what a scale. i never seen one of those.
  8. real nice fish there!! did you ever get yourself a new baitcaster? if so what you go with?
  9. i would just get a right handed one and learn to fish with it.. im a lefty and its easier for me with baitcaster's casting wise. relying on my left thumb controlling the spool than my right hand since im not very coordinated with it. now with spinning reel i cast with right and reel with left.
  10. artic i sent you a pm. just curious on how much everything cost you for set up .cause im interested in your set up, i want to do it to my 11 footer. the one in the avatar. thanks. i love that storage department
  11. nice pics and and its always good to spend time with kids. im just dying for my son to get old enough. hes only two. but me and my brother took his son (4) and nephew and brother n laws fishing cant remember age but under 12 and we had a great time. besides using up my minnows lol. was the hotdog bait or lunch lol.
  12. i second craig list. thats how i got my 11 footer. the boat and trolling motor went for $300. though i had to up grade the motor so all and all $430 and done deal. i got the bass pro shop 40 lb thrust trolling motor for $129.99. but i did seen some jon boats in there for $100 to $150. man craig list has great deals. unbelievable!! the guy i got mine from just sold a 10' plastic boat that look alot like the pelican predator. it had a trolling motor and live well and he sold it for $450. the predator is retailed around $1,100. so yea go check out craigs list and keep an eye out for one. i tried so hard to get that one too but he wouldnt hold it for couple of days. that is the only down fall but most are like that no matter where you find a sale at. its always first come first serve. so when found out bout his 11 footer i told him i was coming that day with the money. that io have to get it. and he turned out to be a very nice man that i was glad to do business with.. just rule of thumb at least in my eyes is make sure you get a title unless you dont mind filing for a loss title. so far i had no problems with my two boats. also while thinking about it you might want to check junk yards they have boats on trailers that look in decent shape. at least the junk yards around my way. i went to one that had at least over 30 boats there. maybe you will get lucky and land one with a title,
  13. While I do read bass magazines/books/articles, I have no illusions about where I am in comparison to the professionals. My quip about going from bass pro was merely hyperbole. And yeah, I am stoked about the 3 bass. Even the bat that flew into my line, got tangled, and pretty much landed him. I always have fun fishing, even if I don't catch anything. But still, I do try to use my time fishing to try and learn as much as I can. My biggest obstacle at the moment, is knowing what to cast out, and how to present it. I suppose in this case, I got over excited assuming I had figured out the lake, and then had a cold dose of reality smack me in the face. But I always remember, a bad day on the water, is better than a great day at work. now aint that the truth,!! especially im a brick mason. so when is construction fun? less your a plumber! lol they always seem to be having fun
  14. Have you used it yet? yea but it was defective so i took it back. half the screen was black. annd screws to mounting bracket didnt hold well so the transducer moved around so i couldnt get a good reading either, i just got the other i probably mount it again this weekend.
  15. thats the same depth finder i just bought from gander mountain off of elmont. yea those cup holders are nice i bought those cheap hangover cupholders well they didnt work well.
  16. i just mounted the eagle 320 on my 11 footer. but i had to take it back. being defective. the guy out gander mountain claims to never see it before but the top half of screen was black. i recommend if using the bracket for transducer get your self some nuts and bolts maybe, my screws that it came with never took hold and no matter what my boat leak. i went through hell with the sealant too. i had it all over me and everything. i just mounted the depth finder near my seat on the top side wall of the boat. so i can see when driving. the cords. i stuffed the connector to finder through that v indention and the rest left tied up in the back of boat. i was going to drill a big enough hole and just stuff the wires inside the metal seats just to rid the slack. i no im also going to use marine weld next time around the screw holes and seal it for good. thats my boat in the avatar. also the instructions tell you how to drill and bring the transducer wire through the boat and what you use to seal it. i might try that too.
  17. in maryland you wont get in trouble for keeping them?? well actually i thought there was a national law about them?? well anyways nice looking monsters. The law is that you must kill them if you catch them. After that they could care less what you do with thim--throw them on the bank, feed them to stray cats, display their heads on your car antennaes, or eat them... i thought we had to call some number and report it. but like you said they probably wouldnt care as long as its dead. Yeah, they used to say to call the VDGIF when you caught one to report it but I've heard that they are telling people not to call anymore because they are getting too many calls. thats most likely true cause after i caught my bowfin i was talking to the game check clerks in ap hill and they was telling me they would get tons of phone calls claiming to catch a snakehead when actually its just another bowfin.
  18. did the crank leave a mark and if so man that would of been great for a pic to post.!! keep it in mind if ever happens again lol
  19. whoa close call there. well how the fishing turned out??
  20. great post. thats was a good thing you did well the whole weekend trip. thanks for posting. nice pics too that one kid looks very determined,
  21. sadly it does happen same to me at this pond where i go and everytime i catch something. well i went sunday nothing for the day same lures. even tried other like plastic worms texas and carolina rigging, spinners. different frogs. a few bites but no takers. it happens. you just move on and try again. ive been to one lake over ten times till i finally caught a fish.

  23. chris wilson, this is the river i was telling you about but so far we only pulled out lil bass, rock bass, and decent panfish. but this water is deep. i only used minnows there and only really fished it once. post to be some nice bowfins in there too. i know there is something in there eating the minnows the will comeback sometimes just the head.. im dying to see if does produce anything decent. i hear our po river and ni river does and this is connected so i cant see why not.

  25. what time of the day are you fishing? i was always told if using topwater its has to be early or at night. thats why im trying to move on to deeper waters in mid mornings/afternoons when the heat is out. but today the pond i was fishing seems to be only 7 feet for the deepest. and i was trying the carolina rigging. I fish a river which at its deepest is probably 6 feet, with the main part being 2 or 3 feet. theres tall plants where it dips down a foot from the upper part, its very slow moving. the only bass are largemouth, some lily pads. very few. theres some stumps and cover in the upper part, the sun hits most of the river. theres an over hanging patch of ivy which provides cover also. i fish 10am to 6pm. i no i have a small river im just dying to get out and see how deep it is. my brother fell in one time and never touched the bottom. and i wouldnt even say that the river is over 40 feet wide. i can cast across it no problem. and i hear it post to have some very deep holes too. on your river are you just using topwaters?? Nope, rapalas, plastics and friends throw live bait also. Your fishing spot sounds just like mine. I can walk in for the most part a little above my knees (im 6'). yea you just cant walk across mine its very deep i have pic of river somewhere on here but go to go to work
