  1. congrats on reel!! so how much did your total come out too with rod? did everything cost more than the combo price or less cause i think your combo price would been 189.98 i think with your 7' pole. u did get the H right? just now have to wait the those 2 to 4 weeks.
  2. man people must be jumping on these. i hope their a good quality reel an rod.
  3. i was thinking about the johnny morris series myself but still not sure i myself too do like the rcx but that could be it stands out. but than again i might just go with carbonlite or another pro qualifier down the road i have some time to think about it anyways
  4. if this number is right in my bps book the combo item number for reel is 21-952-902 (the reel item number is 21-351-598-00)
  5. im surprise you didnt get the carbonlite reel to for a combo set up. together would saved you about 40 dollars. i just dont much about the reel i posted the specs on it earlier. but i didnt handle one in the store.goose52 says hes is interested in the reel more so than the pole.
  6. are you getting the combo set up or just rod?the mag says their 189.98 for the 7' H rod combo and 179.98 for 7' M rod the reel is a 7 bearing system with dual breaking system and a duralumin gears, the reel color is gold. but it seems to only be a 6.4:1 ratio though. and weighs 6.7 ounces. if u do get it and when uses it or have any heplful info on them pm and let me know cause i will be getting a new setup down the road.
  7. its very light but i cant hand feel the weight difference from the carbonlite to the like of other rods i was holding. heres is another thread on this rod from this site. hope this helps you. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1260470803
  8. i was looking at one today when i went to get some more line. im just so once to using cork handles now that the foam handle felt funny. but im looking for a new setup myself i was liking the johnny morris signature series rods. i also like the rcx rods too. dont know how the will handle but like the way the felt. and the rcx i can get down with the purple lol. i dont know bout their reels didnt mess with them there. im looking to do a combo deal when i get my next setup. im thinking bout a 7' as well. but liked the 7'6. i was even checking out some of the other pro qualifiers i have the 6'6 mh.
  9. i havent played no fishing games for wii besides the zelda twilight princess. i miss my bass landing game i have for ps1. that was one of the best i played. on that one you literally had to fish on that game no shadow fish help like on fisherman bait. i was thinking bout the bps strike but the reviews aint all good. i did though tried big game hunter for wii with the gun that was fun.
  10. catfish, croakers, crappie, pickerels last year i got into drum. and and at times i manage to pull in some big american snapping turtles. i want to get into blues and strippers. me and some buddies might be gettings us a charter boat and im pose to be hitting up va beach sometime in jan to fish off beach. never fish in ocean during winter.
  11. i got the tournament combo and no complaints on it biggest i caught so far of that one was 3.5 using the hula popper.
  12. nice!! today i went to gander mountain and they had two pflueger sepreme spinning combo set for 74.99 marked down from 129.99 so i bought the 7' combo. the reel still going for 99.99 alone so hopefully all goes well down the road.
  13. thanks mepps and rebel angler. im going back tomorrow for some more hopefully? heading to store to get another pair of forsets so i can have an easier time getting the hooks out. if anybody have any adive for fishing pickerels im all ears. only thing i know to do is live minnows on a bobber that seems to work for me.
  14. even stills are nice which is a very nice pic and a beautiful lake. i never fished pike, recently got into pickerel though. a dissapointing day i was on a stretch for that couldnt even reel in some cats till recently i caught two pickerels other day so it beat out nothing.
  15. decided to go out fishing monday and thought about trying for pickerel since i never caught any of those before. i bought me a dozen of large minnows and went to the mattaponi river. i tried different way like dropshotting but the minnows would dig in the leaves on bottom of river. i caught two for the day the first one was smaller and caught him only with minnow on hook no weight. the second i caught with bobber. im happy a good day with some good time spent alone. i had to get out for a while. wasnt really cold till round 2 o clock felt like temp was dropping and my car battery died and only had sunflowers to eat. man i was getting hungry. to make matter worse i dump out my minnows thinking i was leaving so was stuck waiting for buddy to give me a jump and had no more bait. a state boy showed up and check my ids and couldnt give a jump saying their not allow to carry cables. i think i was wating for an hour maybe hour and half. oh well the first two pics are the first pickerel and the last two are the seocnd pickerel. my shoe is 11"3/4 long only way to get some what of a measurement i left my gripper at home that has a tape measurer to it.but anyways im happy with my first two pickerels just wish i had my forsets and grippers them pliers i had sucked. does anyone have any advice for fishing pickerels? p.s. im going back tomorrow hopefully catch some more would like to get bigger. one of the guys that live near the river says they some big boys in the river.
  16. nice videos and kayak! i like that setup! the guy with the video cam was just wondering was he just there to record or he fishes too? if he does fish do you record when has a catch?
  17. i dont have a real dumb fishing story but i do have a dumb boat story. me and my buddy's nephew and two nieces with their friend was on my boat while we was joy ridding and swimming in a lake. i decided to mess with them so i looked at my buddy nephew while driving and said you ready i threw it in nuetral and we both dove off the boat. to only come to top of water and see my boat heading for land and realizing the girls didnt know how to drive the boat. luckly for me the boat turned from land but the swim almost killed me. my god i was gapsing for air when got to the boat i just climb in it and laid down
  18. slip gun, that episode was on last night too! i watched a lil bit of it.
  19. i never use the rod but love the reel. i have the 7.1 ratio and i love it so far. i can just about cast anything with out a backlash problem. im using 30 lb braid and yesterday i was throwing a small weighted bobber and a large minnow as weight with no problems.
  20. so far i had no complaints for my set up. i have the pro qualifier combo with the 7.1 ratio. the rod held up so far. i use mine for frogging and even wacky rigging.
  21. man that is crazy!! sucks i dont live near florida or the shore here in va to do that kind of fishing but im post to be taking a weekend fishing trip to va beach soon. hopefully fish are still biting then. does any one no if drums are still in? and how long?
  22. if u think he is only going to use it once and since he never fished before i think if i was buying someone a set up im just going cheap and grabbing them a shakespear ugly stick set up. at one time bps sold the combo on a one piece for $32 but im sure you can find something close to that at cabelas at least i think.if looking at something lil more maybe the pflueger trion it runs for $60 to $80.
  23. the only two i tried was 10# seagar carbon pro dont care for it as the main line. it does seems like a strong line though. i also tried that spiderwire flouro it was my first brand. though i never caught any fish on it cause i barely used the reel and change line out when my brother used it. i did wanted to try the suffix brand. but im just going back to flouro as a leader using the not sure of number size but the smallest spro swivel. i think its 35 lb test and them things a very tiny.
  24. i have the pro qualifier. bought the combo set. i have yet had any problems with mine and love it. i use mine for wacky rigging the weeds and frogging the lilies since i have 30 lb braid on it. my biggest bass on it is 4.2 and i thought it handle the bass very well.
