  1. Cool I don't think my handle is short and seems balanced well with my President XT 6735, at least I think it does! I thought it couldn't be beat for $47.
  2. Well went to local hardware store and bought myself 2 packs of the heat shrinking tubes. I'm getting ready to rigged some worms and get the ready! Thanks for the help everyone!
  3. I know everyone recommends the KVD product so I picked me up a bottle.
  4. I'm using the XPS 30lb braid and no problem there for me. I never tried casting a buzz bait though. But from 4"-5" Senko's, Ragetail's frogs, Spros/ Madd Maxx's I cast a good distance but I do think I need to replace the line soon so I might try this Diawa braid everyone speak of!
  5. At my store they are on sale for $59 I think. Not sure if is a good rod or not but I bought myself the Browning Citori for $47.86 on clearance. It has been marked down from $99.99 to $79.97 with 40% off. The carbonlite is post to be on sale too. My store had only 3 left.
  6. I went to BPS today and bought myself the 7' M-F CIT70MS. It's originally marked for $99.99 and was on clearance for $79.97 and with the 40% off I got it for $47.86. I check reviews on BPS website and has good reviews but would like to know what you all think of these rods??
  7. Believe me, I am! I was confused on it at first till someone else explained it to me. I will get some this weekend.
  8. Haha never thought of that!! Nice and thanks!!
  9. Yea I bought the wacky O-ring tool and going to give it a shot!
  10. I went to Bass Pro Shop and this employee and I was talking about wacky rig. He mentioned to me about he uses o-rings and that it's helps with better hookups and you will get more use from the worm. I think this is this first time I heard about it. So my question is how many prefer using them and do you recommend them?
  11. Size and weight to start with. Also while they are both 6.something : 1 reels, the Citica feels more powerfull and can crank deeper running cranks, big bladed spinnerbaits, and other baits that pull hard with alot less effort thanks to Shimano's HEG gearing. Tierra has more bearings, but by no means is smoother than the Citicas, both cleaned and lubed the Citica will outcast Tierra with the same baits ,the same line on the same rod, and will keep casting better with less maint. The Shimano's 6 pin VBS is simple, set 2 on and forget it........forever, unless tossing very very light stuff, then you might only have to put 1 more brake on. The Mag brakes on the Tierra are better than no brakes, and better than Abu's mag brakes on the Revo SX, and the older STX, but they are still Mag breaks. I have to fiddle with them way to much depending on lure weights, wind, what type of cast I am doing (pitching, roll casting, skipping, etc etc....) and forget anything less than 3/8s oz with the Tierra, even with my trained thumb it's an adventure at best, I regularly cast 3/16 oz with the Citica. Drag is smoother and more reliable on the Shimano. It seems like with the Tierra I either have to lock it down, or have way to little, not much middle ground. The Tierra has 2 things I like about it better than the Shimano, the longer handle, and the ability to pop the thumb bar up with my thumb after a pitch or cast to have the reel instantly engaged, insted of havign to turn the reel handle on the Citica. ww2farmer I don't own either reel but I like your break down. Nice post. To Smallmouth Bassin I'm a Pro Qualifier and a Carbonlite user which I love my 2 reels. I do favor my Carbonlite over my Pro but for $79.94 for the Pro I think is a great deal, giving I paid $99. for mine
  12. I really enjoy my setup. I have the 7' MH-f. It took me a second to get use to the poly foam handle since I'm use to the cork foam handles.
  13. I see the combo is back in the stores for Father's day and I'm thinking about picking up the 4' 10 (i think that the size). The reel seems very smooth and the online reviews seems high. I also like the sale price of $39.94 compare to $59.94 but before I buy I wonder who fished one and how they feel about the combo?
  14. I really enjoy my pro qualifier. I have the 7.1 ratio with 30 lb braid spooled on the reel. It casts without any problems and smooth as can be. I use it for frogging but i have also used it for wacky too. So far it has handle my 4 lber with ease on wacky and a 4 lb bowfin out of the lilies with no problem as well. Another nice reel is the carbonlite, I somewhat like that over my pro qualifier.. I never used the citica so can't tell you but I'm thinking about making the carudo my next reel.
  15. Agreed!!
  16. I love my Spro #16 leopard. I also have the #07 tropical white in the regular and popper version but no luck with either yet. I just got me the Mad Maxx rotten pumpkin but haven't tried it.
  17. Bass Pro Shop will have their Micro Lite Elite spinning for 39.94. I almost bought it for Valentine's day but didn't. Well I will this time! The reel seemed very smooth and post to be 8 bearings. The pole is a one piece. I think I was looking at the 4'10 or something like that.
  18. And on top of that for Father's Day the Pro Qualifier will be $139.94 for the combo from what the flier says!
  19. I never heard of this bait might have to check it out!
  20. I did try tossing my hula popper the black and white one. No luck on it.
  21. I will pick some up over the week to try. The store was closed last night.
  22. I tried my 1/2 ounce black and blue jig with a 4" Berkly chigger crawl. All I had for my jig and no luck. I went blank last night and my buddy only caught one crappie. last night was bad times. My battery for depth finder and spot light I put on charger and said it was 75 % charge so I figure ok good to go. So I get on water now Battery is dead and no finder or light. I went last night using My head band light, the one with 4 settings for a head light. It worked help my spot the fish attractants and stumps sticking up out the water that I couldn't see by the moon light.
  23. Yea I know Bass-brat recommended it too, the Jitterbug. I went to get some but Gander Mountain was closed. I didn't even check to see if Wal-mart carried the black. I will get me a few this week though.
  24. I did try the c- rig last night with a Zoom Brush Hawg June bug. I was trying the dark colors. I grabbed the 7" Anaconda but put it back in my bag. I should of tossed it maybe the moon light would of lit up the red in the watermelon. I don't have the thumper yet or lobster. I might have to pick up a bottle JJ's or Megastrike.
  25. I'll pick one up on way at gander mountain and give it a shot!! Thanks and not only that always heard positive things bout jitterbug just never owned one or fished one.
