Right now my favorite combo is the Pro Model 1/8 oz or 3/16 oz stand up type shaky head with a Rage Tail Craw or really any crawfish imitators that are not really thick in diameter. But the pond I fish in has a lot of rocks on the bottom so crawfish have to be living there too. I've had a lot of success just slow jigging these and dragging them along the bottom. Zoom finesse worms work good on them too. Just experiment with different baits and you will figure it out. Awesome technique to catch some big bass!!

I have a 4 year old daughter and I am scared of her growing up just because I dont know how I'm going to react to her bringing some horny little teenager to the house! But we just found out my wife is pregnant with a boy so maybe he can lay the smack down for me if need be. I'm not scared of the world they are growing up in though. Thanks for the help guys. I will probably end up taking them to a reel mech sometime over the winter. It just ticks me off because I just bought the one that makes the clicking sound a couple of months ago and it already messed up. Is it usually expensive to fix them?

Well I actually have two issues. I'm not really good with the correct terms for the actual reel parts but please try to understand what I'm trying to say.. Well one of my baitcasting reels just started making a clicking noise every time I start reeling in. Not really sure what would make it do this. There is the metal bar underneath the guide that spins when you turn the reel and I think that is where it is coming from. What could this be? The other baitcasting reel has an issue with the guide. It gets stuck all the way to the right when I'm reeling in. I've pushed it to get it unstuck and then when I start reeling in again it gets stuck again. What can I do to fix these baitcasters other than taking them to a reel mech?

Ok yesterday I went out and landed a nice 2 lb fish and practiced the lowering the rod tip method. And it worked. But I think my drag was still set a little too tight. I hooked into another big fish and right after the hook set, the line snapped and I missed him again. I'm going back in the morning to catch this fish...hopefully he's still in the same place that he's been the last week. I just have a feeling that it's the same fish breaking my line like that. It feels like I hook into a log when I set the hook. I just want to know how big he really is.

What is the way to gauge how many pounds of drag you have on or take off with the clicks? On my spinning reel it just clicks and doesn't have anything to tell how many pounds of pressure you took off or put on.

Ok I'm going to call this one like I see it. I think the dang fight was staged. How many times have you seen a stopage like that? Normally someone is atleast stunned a little before they stop it. I mean I understand Kimbo wasn't defending himslef. But with those love taps who would need to defend it? And also, how many times has a fighter stayed on the show after he lost? I know fighters have came back which I'm sure Kimbo will....Kimbo on the show=more viewers=higher ratings=more money for UFC. Kimbo will be back but that fight really sucked. Kimbo just needed to unleash on Roy's fat a#$ and let him have it but it was definitely a staged fight. I liked Rampage's hair cut though. Did you see that?

One more question...how do yall set your drag. I think mine may have been too loose.

I was fishing on a Berkely 7' spinning rod. Med action. I was wondering if the bait was too big too allow me to get a good hook set. Is there anything I can do to get a better hook set and use that bait. It seems to be a big fish bait and I have caught a couple of 3 lbers on this set up. I just don't want to continue missing these lunkers and leave the lake ticked off at the world > Well thanks for the input guys. I will definitely point my rod tip down the next time I feel like they're going to jump on me and maybe I will try jerking harder next time on the hook set to get through all that plastic. Hopefully, I will have a pic of one of these monsters soon!

This past week I have lost two fish that I know would have been over 5 lbs. The first one shook the hook after it jumped out of the water twice. I had my drag set too tight and he shook it. Well last night I was fishing with a yum craw on a 3/16oz stand up shaky head. I got the lure probably 5 feet away from the shore and I felt a little bump. Then the line started to slowly swim away. So i set the hook. Well it feels like I hooked into a whale. All I can hear is my line being jerked out by this monster with my reel squealing....Then just like that he comes unbuttoned and off swims my monster lm. What is wrong and why is it that these fish keep coming off on me? Well I know the answer. The biggest fish I've caught so far is a 3.5 lber and I'm still learning to play the fish. Any advice on how to keep the fish from jumping and coming unhooked? Thanks for listening to my rant.

I agree that the Fight Night before TUF was sweet!! I was really impressed and glad it was free. I hope the rumors about Kimbo aren't true though because I actually like watching the guy fight. And you guys are right that Liddell was a stand up guy and he did exceptionally well in the UFC so maybe Kimbo can do the same.

Yeah I definitely think he is more of a street fighter too. But if he could ever improve his wrestling he could definitely be dangerous. I believe it was Seth Petruzelli or something like that who upset him in Elite XC. And also the Boston cop that put a whoopin on him. But I hope to see him win the Ultimate Fighter because I want to see how he does against some of the bigger names in the UFC like Mir, Lesnar, Sylvia you know some of those guys.

I'm not too sure. I watched the show last night and he has some pretty mean looking opponents on the show. I definitely wouldn't underestimate him. But, I honestly think they will try to save his fight until later on in the season to keep people watching it. Just curious on your opinions. Thanks guys.

I would stoop down to his level and start throwing rocks at him until he left. ;D nah that would probably start a fight or get you shot. I would do what the other guys said and get his boat numbers or name or something and report his butt.

I like spicy food but not as much as yall obviously.. I mean I love jalapenos, texas pete, tabasco if there isnt any texas pete, and a ton of other hot sauces. But I've never ventured much into the chille world. I think after reading this post that I may give it a try though. That or maybe some Thai food

I caught a bream on a jitterbug a couple of days ago. I thought it was a bass until it darted to the bottom really fast and I caught a glimpse of it. That was a first time for me.
