I have an 09 SX. Its been an excellent reel. Initially, I kept the brakes up around 8. Now they're down around 3 or 4. The spool tensioner is more important for me. Just my opinion.
The reel took a little getting used to but once you get a feel for it, its incredibly solid.
I was thinking this as well. I havent had a chance to throw the bait I have with the sure set hooks yet but it does look like it has the potential to bend easy. I might just swap them out to avoid finding out the hard way.
Good choices. A swim jig may not be a bad addition, especially if that area is getting beat up and the fish are getting spooked by a bunch spinnerbaits clanging around.
