"Some marshland could be lost[from the oil], but the amount appears to be small compared with what the coast loses every year through human development."
that just means that we humans suck A$$. were more the problem than the oil spill. The spill has lasted less than a year, while humans have been destroying marshland significantly since the 30's. D@M^!!!!
over here in warren county new jersey, i'm seeing plenty of bats flying around at night, and sometimes during the day! what i can't beleive is that the bear population is so high.(sorry for going off topic). There is actually going to be a bear hunt in new jersey this season
spiders are kind little fellas, you just have to learn to tolerate them. I go trailing all the time and run into the webs, but usually i just brush the web off because it feels like i got hair on me. The spiders always jump off or fall off at some point
i cannot for my life fish without having the rod in my right hand, my dominant one. I have no ability at all to use my left hand to hold the rod, let alone cast! It just feels so weird with the rod in my left and crankin with my right
also i think he pulled the plug because on a tv show he was interviewed (cant remember the name of the tv show) and he said that it took weeks to recover from the starving and exposure.
from what i heard, les Stroud decided to call it quits back in 08 because he was tired of doing it. i think because he was tired of dragging all that d@mn camera equipment! so it wasn't really cancelled per-say
Whats the added bonus to a bent handle? like what makes it a better option than a straight handle? Does it give you added leverage when cranking? or is it just for making a lower profile? or even for astetics?
thanks
I'm thinking of ordering a Lamiglas Excel Casting Rod XL704C for some weightless plastics and light jiging. Any suggestions for a better rod in the same price range (100-150) for the same purpose?
Anything helps, thanks
what the difference between a 1 peice and 2 piece rod of the same type? like the same rod, but they sell it either in a one piece or a two piece version.
whats the difference? do you loose sensitivity with a two piece rod?
for the past few weeks, a stiff wind has been a'blowin and i cant seem to cast more than a few yards, even with my spinning tackle! the wind isn't blowing hard, but its persistant! Can anyone recommend a spinning setup (rod, reel, line) to punch through this wind? I'm trying to cast weightless worms and soft plastics... Anything helps!
Keep'm bent!
your reel is fine! i went through the same thing when i first started out on baitcasters. My first one was an older model Abu Garcia and the levelwind would run when casting, and boy did it cast. Soon, i got a newer model, and i noticed that it didn't move. i got so worried lol
I've seen and heard about these things for quite a while, but I dont really know what they are, except that they reduce glare. Is that about all thats to them?
And even if thats all they do, are there any cheap ones around that are really good, or will at least serve their purpose? Anything helps!
I recently picked up at Cabela's the Quantum Response Spinning reel and rod, and I sadly haven't been able to get the line wet yet. Any thoughts on this reel & rod?
speaking of Quantum, anybody follow this company? what do you think about their quality for the price, etc.? just curious
I'm planning on going to Spruce Run soon, and I'm looking around for a nice depth map of it, but I can't seem to find one. Can anyone post one, and if so, any good spots for perch, bass, crappie? anything helps really, thanks in advance!
