  1. Not tip heavy at all, they are lighter then the Dobyns so if you wanted to you could add a little weight to the butt to make it more like a Dobyns. Now if you don't want that GLX for $190 I will take it times 3.
  2. I have Dobyns in both Savvy and DX and Loomis in both IMX and GLX. I will tell you I think my Loomis are better rods in ever way. The DX is a little faster but if you want a GREAT extra fast bottom contact rod you must get a Loomis BCR. My favorite rod of all times is my BCR803C.
  3. I will try to make this quick GET THE AVID!!!!!! I have Loomis IMX and GLX, St Croix, Dobyns DX and Savvy and I feel the Savvy is WAY over rated, it is by far my least favorite rod of the bunch. Now my Savvy is the SS693SF spinning rod and I dont know if the casting blanks are the same or not, but my Savvy feels dead in my hands. If you shop around a little you should be able to find a use Loomis BCR803 for around $220ish, now that is a jig rod.
  4. The 702c is only a fast action while the AVS68MXF is extra fast. I would use the extra fast action for all bottom contact baits.
  5. My first bait caster was a Quantum something or another (20 years ago) then I bought a few Pflueger Trions and was happy. One day I lost my Quantum in the river so I went out and purchased a new Quantum Code to replace it. I used the code for a week or two and did not like it, so after spending a ton of time reading here I went out and purchased a Citica. All I can say is wow! The Citica is a GREAT real for the money, I now have two. I since purchased a Curado and a Chronarch and still think the Citica is the best buy, but my next reel will be another Curado.
  6. x2 anyone have both the Powell and the Savvy?
  7. Since you brought it up, Americanbassoutlet.com has both the Revo S and the Citica for $109. They are also a sponsor here. I had a Code for less than a week before returning it and buying a Citica, I now have 3 Citicas and 1 Curado!!!
  8. For around $150 what are you thinking??
  9. I currently have a Gloomis MBR782C IMX that I love for lighter lures, but I dont think it's fast enough for light plastics. So I am thinking about the above two rods, I will have to order either rod sight unseend so I am looking for a little help. The Powell gets a ton of good press on this site and others and is only $139. I don't know that much about the Mossyback rod from Loomis, is it worth the extra $100.00????? I know the BCR803 GLX is the bomb and will be my NEXT rod but for now I am looking for a lighter action rod.
  10. I called pure fishing today the Techna AV is being replaced by the Elite Tech.
  11. Hope I get the same offer, had a new Elite tech in my hands last week, felt very light. I will have to send my rod in soon!!!
  12. what rod did you have before? I have a Techna AV that I need to send in, I dont think they are making the Techna any longer. What are they replacing the Techna with?
  13. Thanks guys I think I will try a set in one of my Citica's and give it a real side by side comp.
  14. Has anyone tried Boca bearings? I would like to know if they are worth the cost and hassle of cleaning, re-lubing and installing them? I have two new Citica that I like but I am wondering if new bearings would make them even better?
  15. Nothing on the Techna AV??????
