  1. Just got to learn to work the system man! You can pay 3.60 for a big mac or you can pay .99c for a double cheese burger and get the big mac sauce added on for free! It's exactly the same except for that soggy piece of bread between the buns, that's definitely not worth $2.59 for a slice of soggy bread! This is my secret trick!
  2. lmao, I'll give you 15 shipped. It's used and showing signs of wear... looks like appearance 5
  3. Just buying a bag of senkos and tossing one on a hook and casting wont work, unless your very lucky haha. Read some of the articles, learn what wacky means, learn what t-rig, carolina etc mean and how and when to use these presentations. Read up on how fish hold, where they are, how to fish certain structure, what colors to use when. Then apply the two together, presentation for the structure your working. You will do so much better when you understand the principals and how to apply them. It's very hard, and frustrating to just go out and cast and get skunked day in and day out. Granted if you increase your knowledge, you will catch more fish. When I started my reading / research to fishing ratio was about 5:1 hours. I just soaked up all the knowledge I could, asked as many questions as I could think of and things eventually started to click. When I hit the water, I wasn't even really caring to much if I caught a fish, yeah it would have been a nice bonus but I was practicing the techniques that I had learned and tuning them, adjusting as I saw fit. The pro's study a lake for days, practice it for days then take a month off before a tournament. I started looking at maps a lot, where the drop offs are, running crank baits along the bottom to feel out the ridges and structure, where the rocks were etc. I loved Ike's book especially when he explained the preparations he went through before a tournament. It clicked for me to start this type of study of the water I fish. Hope this helps at least a little.
  4. Cark, yeah I saw those boxes at Dick's also. They were just unpackaging them, thought about buying a couple but ended up passing. Though they looked very nice I but were not tagged with a price and I was short on time and didn't feel like hunting an associate down.
  5. I'd wait at least until tonight or tomorrow morning. should be some new reviews from ICAST.
  6. What would be recommended ratio for a reel for a swim bait rod? Not sure if 7.1:1 would be better or if 6.4:1. I don't fish a lot of swim baits but am thinking of looking into a set up in the near future. Was thinking of pairing it with the Powell 7'6" Mag-Hvy 766. That was I can have a heavier flipping rod as well as a solid set up for swim baits with an up to 2oz rating. I looked at matlures, the hard gills are just under 2oz so I figured it would be a good set up.
  7. Wow that is really cool
  8. Beautiful fish man! Nice day!!!
  9. nice fish man! I'd say 7-8#
  10. wow, I wish I had thought of that! hah, beat me to it!
  11. my personal favorite for hards anyway is rapala husky jerk
  12. Sounds like the spool is to full. Take some line off.
  13. I suggest avoiding swim baits then, especially the good ones ;D
  14. Sounds like a great time!
  15. Not sure, but will have to check!
  16. Black on Black buzzbaits, black/blue or black/chart jigs w/ dark colored trailer.
  17. Spinners with the biggest Colorado blades you can find in gold. Buzzbaits, jitterbug just get in there and make noise with them.
  18. hah, wonder if that's supposed to be a joke.
  19. I agree, that girl probably walked that route several times. She didn't expect an unmarked manhole to suddenly be there. There was no reason for her to expect that she couldn't send a text message while walking... Though suing is a bit ridiculous, if she had been injured I could see it but just scared... that's BS. People have become so sue happy its ridiculous. My grandfather was sued by a door to door salesman, who came onto his property that was marked with "No Trespassing" signs, walked up to his door and slipped on some ice. Now my grandfather when this happened was in his early 80's, it was 8am that this man slipped, he hadn't made it out to salt his walkway yet... what a ***** crock. Thankfully the judge threw it out and rewarded my grandfather lawyer and court costs to be payed by the salesman
  20. Wanted to put this review out here, I bought some of these today and tried them out... absolutely amazing for wacky style! I t-rigged over wacky majority of the time because there are a lot of weeds where I fish and I was clearing weeds every retrieve with wacky. These weedless wacky hooks work amazing, the 4/O seemed to fit the bill perfectly. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_58035_100010002_100000000_100010000_100-10-2

    BuzzBaits

I find buzzers to work best for me at dawn, dusk, cloud cover or night. I also find that in certain areas (I fish from shore) where the fish get a lot of pressure and heavy angler exposure, they are not nearly as aggressive and will not hit any top waters. If your fishing an area that is highly fished that could be the problem.
  22. First fish on artificial, would be a 16" northern with a red and white daredevil when I was 8. First bass on artificial was with a 1/8oz chartreuse and white spinner
  23. Thanks for all the input, I went to the local shop and felt a lot of the poles recommended. I ended up spending a bit more than I said but after feeling out the 6'6 M/F carrot stick that was my favorite. Did well with it today, bagged me 2 LM, 2# and one real little guy.
  24. Caught this little 2#er on a wacky style blue pearl and silver senko about 4pm today.
