  1. Gotcha, an 8-6 is a beast up north, congrats to your friend. Biggest I have seen weighed actually was an 8-3 out of lake Geneva. Never seen a DD weighed or landed in person out of WI, though I have heard stories of course.
  2. Planning on coming as well, will reserve a room if I can find someone to room with. Send me a PM if interested.
  3. Never fished the academy frogs, but assume they are very similar to any hollow belly frog in general. ]Fish em on top in heavy cover. I like to trim the legs about 1/4 to 1/2 inch, it gives the frog better action. I like a pop and pause retrieve, steady retrieve or walking retrieve... really depends on what the fish want.
  4. lol yeah I saw that as well, it just showed up recently, wasn't there a few days ago.

  8. You have made your opinion heard once already in this thread. Further more, I do not even remotely begin to understand you when you say the "hype on stuff over 8#" I have fished these lines in 10 and 12# and they are both great. Now please either offer some constructive responses or stop trolling this thread.
  9. I just bought a new laptop and am in the process of setting everything up on it, installing open office etc etc. I'm really not a huge fan of Vista but couldn't afford to warrant buying a mac at this point. I got a free copy for Windows 7 when it comes out in October... but that is besides the point. I would like to run openSUSE (Linux version). I know there is a way to partition my hard drive so that a prompt will appear and ask if I would like to boot in openSUSE or Windows. Not to sure how to partition my hard drive or get this to happen, could use some help from you computer savvy people!
  10. May have to try one or two of these and compare to my spro's.
  11. I switched out the stock split rings and trebles, don't really have this issue anymore.
  12. 100-170 range... Powell is my preference. 200-300 range Kistler is my preference
  13. That hot sauce is very good MLT, definitely one of the best. I think my favorite though is Tapatio. I like things to be hot, I either eat it hot but not so hot that it drowns out all other flavor. I have gradually gotten my tolerance up over the years. There is still one meal I can't finish though, its a spicy red chicken curry from an Indian restaurant here in town... I can't even finish half of it at the *native* hotness.
  14. Is he the one who dresses up in a rabbit outfit and leaves pictures of shimano's under your pillow? I just lost a tooth, I could use another Curado E7 I just had 4 wisdom teeth out last week... I could use a Stradic CI4 ;D
  15. Lead becomes toxic to aquatic life at .2 to .25 ppm. Fish will seem to form a mucus over their gills. Short answer, no a few sinkers is not enough to cause a fish kill.
