any ideas how to get skirt bands onto the Boss punch hub? I have the Boss tool (tube) to build your own skirts but I can't get the band to slip onto the hub.
Latest issue of bass master had an article by Gary Klein on split shotting. He mentions split shotting instead of drop shotting in this condition (rip rap / rocks).
I’m considering taking a road trip to Lake St. Clair mid may can anyone recommend a “clean” hotel?
Boat friendly
Close to lake / launch
"Cheap" (I realize that cheap and clean might not go together)
Finesse tubes are a staple in the 3 rivers / Pittsburgh (I spend a ton of time on the river every year) for smallmouth, therefor I have a ton of confidence in throwing tubes in any environment.
Brent Ehler won a FLW major last year by drop shotting to the "followers" once they were near the boat. He would "call" the fish to the boat with the umbrella rig, watch them on the graph, and then pick them off with the drop shot.
Lately it has been crankbaits and jerkbaits. In the winter I stop at one of the tackleshops (there are three ) on my way home from work on Fridays, I try to only buy a couple at a time.
I was there in January and fished for one day out of Rowland Martin’s Marina. We had difficult conditions to say the least (20 to 25 mph winds). The best suggestion I have is if you are only fishing for one day is to use live shiners, it is going to be your best bet to make the most of a one day trip. It will be an additional cost but those fish are so "keyed" in on shiners it is unreal.
I totally agree with everything you mentioned, however I'm a "fan of the professional fishing", watching the pros gear is just one more thing to think about.
Dwight,
What part of Florida are you wintering in? Its unbelievably cold here this week, the high for Erie is only 20! I’m headed to West Palm on Saturday for a week, I’m looking forward to “thawing out”!
