  6. I dont think its a medium heavy though Im seen a few but most are l or ul i did see a menium or 2 but would really love something a little stiffer
  7. I know this probably sounds crazy to most of you, but I'm looking for a 5ft or 5ft 6" MH spinning rod for skipping out of a crawdad. Can anyone lead me to where I can find one, All I can find on the web is L and UL in that size. I'm only 5' 6" and will be using it sitting instead of standing so a longer rod is a little tricky being short and so low to the water. Thanks
  8. I've used them a total of 6 or 7 times throught the summer and early fall with no success. I'm very surprised. It looked like a winner to me. I won't give up on it yet, i will probably try it a couple times with the hopes of it being a producer
  9. I have some questions about getting in to tackle making. I was hoping it might be a nice hobby to get through the winter doldrums. I do not have a lathe but have seen a couple contraptions that can turn the wood with an ordinary high speed drill? Do these work? Can someone point me in a good starting direction for trying crank baits. Instructional video? Supplies? paint etc? and any other important stuff I'm leaving out. how do you insert the bill? does someone sell them in all diffrent depths?
  10. Sounds great! I will try learning and perfecting a roll cast. The only tutorials i can find relate to fly fishing. Is it the same technique as the fly technique? If you can refer me to some online instructions or videos I'd be thrilled
  11. What kind of rod/reel setup do you recommend?
  12. I have a leg injury that prohibits me from standing for long periods while fishing. I'm looking for some advice on ptiching and flipping jigs sitting on a bass boat seat or in a lower position in a crawdad. I am using a clarus 6.5' heavy rod with a citica 200d reel with 20lb mono Is there a better or shorter setup that will make this easier. I think the longer rod sitting makes it tougher? Any techniques beit videos or web articles that can help with this?
  13. well, i just bought a cardiff for my swimbait rod and i'm not that big a fan of the round profile. Sorry
  14. I'm looking for some suggestions for a crankbait baitcaster with gears in the low 5's. I have a curado 200e7 now and love it and thats to fast. I didnt want to pay 180 for a crank reel if i dont have too. Don't use it a ton. i probably have been spoiled. Looking to spend between 80-120
  15. I actually have an extra citica 200d from last year. I replaced mine with a curado I would sell it for $55 shipped i can be emailed directly at michaellynnjr@gmail.com
  16. I had to switch to a 1.5 oz tungsten. a nice 10mm glass bead and my choice is the Brushhog in watermelon/purple flake
  17. do you have any of these for sale?
  18. Fall River here!
  19. I went today from shore. Lily pads galore. to thick to throw anything but a frog. I got 1 hit but wasnt paying attention and missed him? i was near the boat launching area, any better areas?
  20. can this be done from the shores and banks? or is it only a technique used from a boat in wicked deep water
  21. anyone have a good resource for the hats that cover the back of your neck?
  22. anyone ever use these? any recommended rigging style? they look like a pile of senkos. anyone try wacky rigging them?
  23. Maybe it wasnt quite that far. To a newbie baitcaster guy I was in awe! It was pretty amazing to see the accuracy of a skilled baitcaster. I can't wait to get that good at it.
  24. I've been spending some time at a new Tackle shop I found in seekonk. I bought a spinning setup the other day with some advice from here. I bought a Shimano saros 3000 and a med/hv rod. Awesome After reading about the awesomeness of baitcasters and really getting excited fishing. I had to go buy a Bait caster. I bought the Shimano Curado 200e7 and a heavy fast action matching rod. Bill Q who owns the Bill's Bait shop went way above and beyond by taking me outside and gave me a 1 on 1 clinic on casting and technique. This guy can hit a half dollar from 100yds. He showed me stuff that would take me months to learn on my own. With his help I was casting nice and smooth in 10 minutes. I love this Curado so much!! Awesome Thanks to everyone on here who gave me advice on these setups.
