  1. 48 jigs isn't nearly as crazy as it sounds. My main jig box has easy double that many jigs, I don't carry all of them with me all the time though. I use swim jigs, football heads, alien heads and arky heads, all have different purposes. Football jigs, for example, I use 4 different weights. Pick a few colors you like in each size and multiples of each for when you lose one and it adds up fast!
  2. I can certainly appreciate the reasons for buying a micro spool but it doesn't seem very fitting to use with 1/2oz swim jigs.
  3. You will only get 2 responses so I will save everyone some trouble. Siebert Outdoors and North Star Custom Baits. Oh, and Rage Tail plastics for trailers.
  4. I can't wait to try these out.
  5. You're right, blowing a 24 point lead is clearly the quarterback's fault. lol There's the problem, you get your football opinions from the talking heads and arm chair quarterbacks. Do a little research. There's no point in arguing with people who probably haven't seen a handful of Cowboy games in the last 5 years. I'm out
  6. I don't know if I would attribute it to the bearings but my Patriarchs are very smooth reels on the retrieve. They are packed full of bearings, so that does add to the smooth feeling the reels have. They also have dual braking which cast great when set right.
  7. I would also take a hard look at Pflueger's revamped baitcasters. The previous generation Patriarchs are fantastic reels.
  8. I hope Christmas is a sure thing this year.
  9. If you go back and look at the ICAST coverage on TT or even TW, you will see all new products to be released in the coming months.
  10. I'm not trying to compare Staubach and Romo, that would be ridiculous. My point was only that when you look at the numbers, it paints a completely different picture. Romo holds just about every Cowboy statistical passing record, so that doesn't tell the whole story either. Obviously he's no Staubach or Aikman but he also doesn't have the team around him they did. I'm a Cowboys fan, not a Romo fan. I just know that he gets a bad rap that isn't completely deserved. There are only 7 or 8 quarterbacks in the league that I would take before Romo. Unfortunately for him, if he doesn't win a Super Bowl in his career, a few bad games will overshadow everything else and become his legacy.
  11. I'm interested in these, where did you get them? Are they large enough to go on the huge rings of some swimbaits? I use oval split rings on all my crankbaits and would like to put them on some of my hard swimbaits. I bought a pack of the Worth Power Oval Split Rings but I still had trouble getting them on some baits without deforming.
  12. That is simply not true. I'm sure most teams lose a lot of games in which their qb throws a 4th qtr interception. It didn't say whether or not the Cowboys were already losing those games though. Romo has a higher winning percentage in comeback games than Roger Staubach, who was nicknamed the "Comeback Kid." There is a perception of Romo that simply isn't true. The stats don't back it up and the actual games don't back it up. The perception is far different than the reality. Romo threw the same number of interceptions on Sunday as Manning. His only other one this year was in the first qtr of the first game when his rookie receiver ran the wrong route.
  13. In general, I agree with you, that goes for crankbaits too. Sometimes swimbaits come in packaging where snaps are used to secure the bait in the package. It can be hard to tell what the bait maker had in mind.
  14. Soft swimbait or hard swimbait?
  15. I've probably seen every single Romo start since he's been in the league. Hell, I've probably seen just about every Cowboy's game since the Aikman years. If you watch Cowboy's football regularly and think Romo is the problem, you're not paying attention, it's laughable.
  16. When it gets cold, Wiggle Warts and flat sided crankbaits are always good choices. I really like the Lucky Craft KJ Flat, I'm also interested in trying the SK KVD Flat Sided Crank and the Arashi Flat Sided Crank.
  17. If you can get your hands on all the rods and mount the reels to them, that's what you should do. To me, they all seem like good, quality set ups at that price point and it really should come down to which one feels the best in your hands, not what some moron's (myself included) online say.
  18. I like the Aurora Black color better than the Crack colors for jerkbaits. I do like the Crack patterns on sq bills though.
  19. Awesome rods but I would look for the 765 for deep cranking. I have a custom and it is the most fun rod I own. Awesome deep cranking rod.
  20. If you enjoy stuff like that you can do it yourself. Get an ultrasonic cleaner and read up on supertuning. There is a learning curve though and you might screw some stuff up before you perfect it.
  21. If you really drilled holes in a spool and didn't screw anything up, I'd say you got very lucky. It would be easy to throw your spool out of balance or bend it, making it useless. If you want added performance, send your reels to DVT for a cleaning and supertuning. This service is cheaper than buying a new spool.
  22. I sometimes do it and have never had a problem. I've also had a bait tied on that didn't get used at all on a trip and kept it tied on for the next trip, without a problem.
