  1. Different bait entirely.
  2. Sorry for delay in posting these pictures but these are the 2 clamps I use for gluing up cork rings. One is a squeeze clamp from the hardware store and the other is a piece of all thread with knobs I can tighten down. The key for the threaded clamp is using plumbers teflon tape on the threads to keep the rings from sticking. I use Titebond III for gluing rings. The squeeze clamp has a hole drilled in both sides of the clamp and a 1/4" piece of aluminum bar through everything to keep the rings lined up.
  3. The weight of a jig doesn't really make the size of the jig any larger anyway.
  4. I like CXX for some techniques but I never found it to be terribly sensitive. I go to fluoro or braid when I want sensitivity. I fish jigs on fluoro.
  5. Try the "show and tell" section
  6. I have a micro Bucoo that is 7' and just labeled "medium action." I don't know if it's the same rod you have but it makes a great jerkbait rod.
  7. As stated, I don't use clips. I tie direct to oval split rings. If I did use snaps I would first remove the split rings. I'm sure some people snap to the split ring but I don't think that's the right way to do it. Also, if you use snaps you need to be extra aware of your line. It's much easier to become complacent if you don't have to retie to change baits. Check your line often and retie when necessary.
  8. Zell Pops at $2.99 is a even better deal. That warrants a trip to Dick's for me.
  9. Great baits at a great price.
  10. I put oval split rings on all my crankbaits that don't already come with them. This way I never have to worry about tying in the split part of the ring. I never fish crankbaits without the split ring.
  11. Looks good to me.
  12. Soon you won't even look at the crankbaits that places like Dick's and Gander Mountain sell because you have all of them. Ask me how I know that.
  13. I've never thought about fishing a worm wacky style on a jika rig. I'm sure it would work though.
  14. So y'all fish wacky rigged Senko's on Jika rigs and Carolina rigs?
  15. I also run a HB 798 CI HD SI on my kayak. Getting the best ff I could afford was priority #1 after I bought my yak. I almost went with the Lowrance Elite-7 HDI but ultimately decided I wanted side imaging. I'm really happy with my 798.
  16. I'm not a fan of fishing stickbaits with weights. I think it kills the natural action that's built into the bait. The exception to that would be wacky rigging in deeper water or drop shotting. For shallow water like you describe, I would fish it weightless.
  17. I have a Galaxy S4 and love it. I've had 3 Android phones before this one and don't really have a bad thing to say about any of them. Android all the way.
  18. They extended the Zoom sale for another week. You can go to academy.com and see the weekly circular that runs from Sunday-Saturday.
  19. You can buy a Curado handle assembly for around $30, it comes with knobs.
  20. I agree, well worth an extra $30-$40.
  21. This is the problem I have with them too. I'm not sold on the sound technology and the baits that are out now wouldn't be something I would pay $12 for if they didn't make noise. If they come out with some baits that I would be willing to buy based on the bait alone, I will probably get some to try out. They are also supposed to be coming out with some swimbaits, same will go for them.
  22. Invest in a set of good screwdrivers if you plan to take reels apart. I use Wiha screwdrivers and it makes things a lot easier.
  23. Starwood Motors is about a mile from me, I see their Jeeps all over town. They do some awesome stuff. I haven't seen this one driving around Dallas though.
  24. Elias actually has 2 of the more memorable wins, the one on Falcon and the one on Guntersville that started the A-Rig phenomenon. Both surpassed the 100lb mark too.
