  1. We are proud to announce that on 9/1/12, NorthStar Custom Baits will be releasing a new series of jigs called the Black Series. This jig has a unique combination of materials and one of kind design that will change the way you fish, and we believe will put more fish in your boat. Starting 8/1/12 we are going to get these jigs in the hands of our facebook fans, so if you have yet to "like" us please sign up on our facebook page for you chance to test these jigs before the release. Also, stay tuned on our facebook page for more info on this jig as we get closer to the release date. Thanks for all of your support!
  2. Haha sorry we weren't able to meet up! I had the wifes bday party all weekend. "like" our Facebook page for a chance to win some free jigs, otherwise our production time is at a week....for jigs where everything is manually produced, that is really good time...good things come to those who wait
  3. Pearl belly..that is the beginning and end of what colors I look for in a frog.
  4. Great little worm. My favorite aspect of this worm is the larger head section. The worm rarely comes off of the keeper like some others often do.
  5. Under Armour heat gear is the best BY FAR. They protect from UV rays and keep you cool, even when it gets really humid. They also make the sleeves a little longer to cover the tops of your hands; very nice feature.
  6. I typically only fish chartreause in deeper or dingier water so it POPS a little better. To answer your question, bluegill naturally have some bright blues and chartreause colors on their scales, but when they flare up is when those colors come to life and these cranks immitate a defensive bluegill.
  7. I live right by you and have a few jigs I could give you. What are you looking to fish? Swim Jigs? Our production time is about a week out at this point and we are continuing to improve on that as we build up an inventory.
  8. NorthStar Custom Baits has announced our first Facebook Photo Contest, but not only are we giving out a FREE NSCB jig set, we are giving the winner the opportunity to name a jig color that will be released later this summer. The photo contest will run through July and the winner will be announced on July 31st. In order to win you must be a NSCB Facebook fan and to be eligble, follow the instructions below: 1) Visit and become a fan of our page by "liking" us @ https://www.facebook...132601386796834 2) submit your photo to northstarcustombaits@gmail.com; along with the photo, provide a few details on how the fish was caught 3) Share the contest on your Facebook wall .....That is it! Thanks to all in advance who enter and good luck! Thanks, VC
  9. I have these as well and cannot wait to get rid of them...too much light penetration for my liking.
  10. We can end this thread now; great posts guys.
  11. Sorry to open a wound..I'm glad to hear they are smackin those swim jigs though ; )
  12. The didn't want it feeling will probably go away once you get that baby on a new rod.
  13. That WAS my thought process. The other day we had 35MPH winds with sun shine and active fish; doesn't get much better copnditions for a spinnerbait.....one fish in the boat. I just have more confidence in swim jigs no matter what the conditions are. I do want to note that I have had some great success with a heavier NorthStar Custom Baits spinnerbait in deeper water in the summer time, so we will see if that bite picks up this year.
  14. Why would you bid if you didn't want it? Are you saying you might have missed something in the description?
  15. Trailers are crucial to catching bass because they help add action or help make the jig look more realistic by providing a gliding action. I would start by getting a few sizes (3/16, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2) in a few different colors that you have heard work in your area. Generally, the basic watermelon colors and black/blue color combinations are going to produce the most fish, but there are also bodies of water where the bass only hit a very specific color. I would consider looking into NorthStar Custom Baits premier or pro series jigs and swim jigs (used as a moving bait) Hope this helps!
  16. You missed the joke.
  17. Agreed. I would sell my boat/tackle and retire
  18. No suprise, but the "new gill" has been my top producer so far. This spring was the first time I got to try this jig out and I love how versatile this jig really is. I have caught them flipping into heavy cover and swimming it in deeper water for post spawn bass.
  19. NorthStar, Land Big Flsh, and TW. I was a Cabela's fan for a long time until they started to mess up my orders on a consistent basis and they try and tell me the item I got was what I ordered...Terrible customer service.
  20. The classic walk the dog topwater lure. Great when fished with mono line and medium/fast action rod.
  21. Chris will probably chime in here soon, but I will make sure to thank him for you. The boat is running great! We had a few minor things come up, but other than that I could not be happier to this point. Have you fished a derby since I was on Fox?
