  1. Glad they are both OK. But I don't think the bass are "That" shallow.
  2. Like my Momma says: "you can window shop all you want.. but don't go shoplifting". (Of course she and her BFF embarassed me "just a tiny bit" at the movies saying" WOW" out loud, to Brad Pitt in Troy, and Hugh Jackman in Australia.) They are 80 yrs old..but spunky..LOL. She's the one that taught me to fish, and she mostly flyfished on Shingle Creek for bass.
  3. We wil be going the last week of March. We've never been there, but were invited in a "too good to pass up" offer to split cabin costs, right on the lake. I'm not sure exactly where on the lake we will be yet, but looking forward to going anyway.
  4. Oh wait.. let me find some...... dawgonit, the photos are on another comouter.. I'll get some up of fishing cowboy with his fish. He's the one that talked me into getting the boat, and now he laughingly complains about me wanting to go fishing, and he wants to sleep in,.He says he's created a fishing monster.. LOL
  5. Absolutely. We have a fun half day tourney on Sunday. (The coldest day predicted for 2013), but I'm going... after all it's a good time to wear my new fishing jacket hubby got for me.
  6. . Thanks Teal. It didn't take much "talking" for him to agree. I think my husband will enjoy taking them out and showing them different techniques. He loves using his Fluke and Flipping. The hardest will be him not being able to fish..lol.
  7. I talked to my husband "fishing cowboy" and he will contact you through Facebook. He is willing to be coach for you and your partner. He used to be a part of the Teen Anglers in Polk County.
  8. We are going to play around on lake Kissimmee monday. Might see you out there. (we have other tournaments Sat/Sun.)
  9. They did it a couple years ago when the lake front was impassable in many areas. It seems to last longer than the spraying. Those floating grass islands will choke up the paths. They are doing a major re-work of the lake front with improvements that will include an area for tournament weigh in, and much more parking.
  10. I like the Envinrude one as well, though I don't chat like her, you did notice she was the one catching the bass. .
  11. Happy New Year Rob and everyone else. See y'all out on the lakes!
  12. I got hubby a Shimano Citaca reel, Cocoons for his glasses, and getting him a custom rod made for his birthday.
  13. I've have a bag filled with nothing but Rage Tail products. The Space Monkey has now become my favorite go to bait. I use it top water, texas rigged, and as a jg trailer with a little worm rattle stuck inside. I've also requested a local bait shop to stock it, and after they tried it at a tournament, first cast and they see the line swimming off. They ended up winning the tournament on Toho. They now stock alot of Rage Tail products.
  14. It'll be in a shipping tube..I sure hope it arrives tomorrow. If it doesn't please let me know, so I can have a chat with the USPS Shipper and find out where it went.
  15. You are welcome Clint, I can relate with the patience, hoping you got the packages okay and have been wearing out the computer checking to see. I hope the Gyotaku arrives by tomorrow. I put the little worm rattles inside the SpaceMonkeys, that combination works pretty good as a jig or Texas rigged. Merry Christmas to everyone!
  16. The shipment will go out Saturday.. I just finished a personal touch on one and stopping by Bass Pro for the rest. It'll be shipped in two packages. This is so much fun... I love shopping..especially for Fishermen!
  17. Thank You slonezp!! You definetly did some homework! These are fanatastic, I love to use these products and I'm looking forward to trying out the Keitech Swing Impact baits. they happen to be a color that is working great on the lake we have our fun Sunday afternoon tournaments. The gift card is the icing on the cake... .. oh I guess you can tell, I couldn't wait for Christmas...
  18. Well crickety, this is a wonderful group of people here, willing to help, share, and get to meet in personin those fun ocassions. Jump on in on any of the forums and have fun. I like getting out there fishing and chatting up absolute strangers. I have a passion for fishing, that can be contagious.
  19. Welcome crickety!!
  20. That looks like a cross between Caddy Shack and Apocalypse Now.. I've used a product called "Fresh Cab". It's main ingredient is Balsam Fir oil and smells a little astringent, but not terrible, but apparently rodents don't like the odor. It's been keeping these huge rats out of my house and the boat. Especially when we had lots of rain and they were looking for the "high and dry".
  21. Help them. We've done it and we've had help too, when our boat broke down. I've caught a ride to the weigh in with our bag of fish, then caught a ride to get the boat (and hubby) towed in.
  22. pm sent. It was a lot of fun. I agree that once you get the name you are gifting, to check through some of their past posts. It was a huge help for me.
  23. I am happy for those who have come through that safely and best wishes for everyone's recovery. We have a been there, done that experience with hurricanes, but we haven't had to experience that kind of devastation with freezing cold added to it. I can't imagine. We had the sweltering heat, flooding, and electricity outages, long lines for gas, etc. I know my next big investment would be a gas or propane powered alternate generator wired to the house. prayers again for everyone up yonder.
  24. We do, plus we freeze some bottles to put in the live well just to keep the fish comfortable. (no, we don't drink from those lol)
  25. I'm jealous. But seriously, you earned it, enjoy your retirement. See you out there.
