  2. Great story!! Super Fish!
  3. It works! Thanks!
  4. That thing really looks like its name..I'd be afraid I was bringing in someone's ex-pet now loose Boa or Anaconda to the boat. (we've had those big snakes caught in our local lakes). But I'd certainly try and cook it if it really tastes that good...fried snake head, grits and greens and a biscuit..maybe tastes better than it sounds..lol
  5. Great post..Don't you just love that "One last cast"?
  6. Mine is : ohh....ohhh.. OHHH.!!!!
  7. Woa, what happened? Warranty? Did it have a bad lower unit? Glad to hear you're back on the water! Thanks, The warraty examination said the splines were twisted and they tried to say it was improper reversing, so they wouldn't cover it. But further exam on the splines showed it wasn't that, so it must have been an impact or something. I do know we came to a sudden stop at 60 MPH when the unit blew. But whatever, at least the Insurance co replaced the lower unit. The most interesting part is being towed by an airboat and the insurance company saying they didn't have a preferred tow provider except the Coast Guard. FYI, I don't think the Coast Guard operates in Lake Kissimmee.
  8. Don't forget to try and work a worm slow. Real slow. I even had an older gentleman follow me around Shingle Creek in his john boat(when I was fishing solo) giving me helpful tips. >>"Fish that worm slower, your not fishing it slow enough..that big ol fish is thinking about it.. get ready...She'll grab it..leave it alone till she moves it" LOL But I listened, watched my line finally move off and pulled in a nice 4 lber.. But hey, if you tell me that sticking out my tongue and balancing on one foot will help me land a good one, I'll give it a try!
  9. You were right in my back yard. We went to lake Seminole.
  10. We actually wanted to get the Yamaha with it, but the boat was a great deal. It was the last Team boat of a foreclosure 2007 inventory, on a dealer up north and was sitting at the factory, never been titled and we got it for $10,000 under retail value. However when it comes to new boat time and finaces allow, we are looking at the Phoenix boats. A local dealer has one on his lot and we are going to get a good "look/see" at it.
  11. X2, but add 5 years
  12. I wanted the bassboat taken with us on the honeymoon! 8-) We plan on camping out at one of the lakes and fish all weekend. (Later this fall without the 90+ degree heat).
  13. I just had the lower unit replaced after dealing with the warranty issues and then insurance co..But I got the call an hour ago it was ready. Sooooooooo I'm looking to get fishing this weekend.
  14. Yay! Just got the call the boat is done! I can go fishing this weekend.. Happy happy joy joy!
  15. Well my insurance covered it, so minus my deductable $, we should be back out on the waters in a couple weeks. (waiting on parts and prop to come back). Maybe in time for our local couples tournament, but I am sure missing the fishing, no matter how hot it's been, even for just a couple hours...
  16. Personally, I'd would have asked if she heard the words coming out of her mouth? Go park your chair somewhere, I was here first. (Then I hoped I land a big fish and let it flop all over her!)
  17. Oh My Goodness! I would hyperventilate if I latched onto and landed something like that!! > > >breathe...
  18. Aghhhhh.. Now Evinrude doesn't want to honor the warranty and I'm having to go through my Insurance co. I checking the internet to find where others have had a lower unit gear box failures. I have found 4 local guys so far that had the same thing happen to them. >
  19. Thanks Big O and Bass Brat. We had to remind the Airboat operator that a bass boat can't take the short cuts through the grass like they can..LOL. It was definetly an experience. I found out that the gear box in the Evinrudes were the older type and I'll be getting a newer upgrade that can handle the torque. We didn't even have 50 hours worth of running on that engine and really haven't run it at top speed. (Hubby and I aren't crazy about going all that fast, just fast enough to stay out of the other boats way in the opening run in tournaments).
  20. Well yesterday started out pretty good. Hubby and I hit the lake at Joe Overstreet Landing, while the young one was visting his cousins. First stop we caught a couple of small bass each on Tiger Creek, using weightless flukes and figured we'd make the run to Marion Creek on Lake Hatchineha and see if there is any current. We were about 2 miles into that lake, when we started hearing a rattle from the Evinrude E-Tech. Hubby and I looked at each and decided to call off the fishing and head back to Joe Overstreet. (Both of us crossing our fingers and hoping we wouldn't have to troll all the way back) Needless to say partway back through the Kissimmee River canal, the rattle got worse and I started feeling a vibration. We immediately got off plane and figured out that the lower unit was going kabloohey and it did. We started trolling to Camp Mack while I was on the phone with my Insurance Co to see if they had a tow service provider.. Yeah.. NO. I was told I was supposed to call the Coast Guard...right.. that set up laughter from both us imagining a Coast Guard boat in Lake Kissimmee. Sooo we continued to fish as we trolled in. (Of course) . We ended up getting towed by Touring Air Boat for $100. which my Insurance company said they were sending me a check to cover the towing fee.(Neither of us have been on an airboat before, and all the other boaters were out in a tournament, so that was a rather different experience for us) Loading up the boat was a challenge as well, standing in the water, manuvering it around and weight adjusting at the bow then stern got it up on the roller and locked down Fortunately the outboard is still under warranty and getting hauled in for service this afternoon. 8-)
  21. nature mostly, I just got an I-Pod so I might use it on occasion. Though it is nice to know when you are hearing Gators roaring and get to see one heck of a fight between two bull-gators. (Giving them plenty of distance)
  22. It happened to me 3x in one two-day tournament recently. Never had it happen before that day.(also had a catfish on a crankbait). They were small 2 to 1 lbers. The third time both fish were much larger and the tail end one shook off at the net and took the rear treble hook with it.
  23. Two things that helped us when we were lucky enough to find them busting bait fish. 1st Grab a crank bait. 2nd was a carolina rigged fluke. The weight brought the fluke below where the smaller bass were busting the bait on top. It then fell to the level where the bigger bass were further below and they were nailing the injured bait fish. We had 2-3lber's on top getting the crank bait, but 5-7lbers were getting the c-rigged fluke. Hope it helps, it helped us in ours.
