  1. Don't you remember riding around in my shopping cart at Bass Pro last Saturday?? You kept grabbing things off the shelf! Oh well, I'll see you again tomorrow.. 8-)
  2. Sounds like a whooping well deserved..they may want to re-think about who may have a concealed weapon permit before "running up to them with a club".
  3. That's too bad it was such a brutal day..I was hoping it would better for all of you. It's days like you described that clinched my decision to splurge on a power pole. I bought the 8' sportsman model, which works fine for a bit less $$. I was tired of my hubby getting worn out trying to keep the boat positioned especially when we were on fish and trying to avoid being blown over them. (I take turns, but he likes the front and I like my head too much to be near his hook sets) It was the best investment besides the boat for the both of us. Hubby will fish the Gambler tournament out of Lake Kissimmee, with his son.
  4. Went to BPS and getting the package together. I hope he likes it.
  5. X2 But I will google videos of Dave Mercer
  6. Been there, did that in Wyoming..which is another reason I am back in Florida. (The driving in it part) Humidity makes a BIG difference in how it "feels'.. But I'd rather fish in cold weather here than in the stifling, no breeze, high humidity, 90 degree+, praying to go move locations just to get the breeze, summer here.(I'll fish it even then, but I am out for the count afterwards)
  7. PM sent. Sounds like fun.
  8. Wow!! What a great big gal! Awesome!
  9. And they are both nice sized fish. Thanks for sharing!
  10. X2 Toho has areas we can't even troll to because it is too thick. >> ducks behind desk<<
  11. It was tough in our couples tournament yesterday. I think the winning weight was 5 fish at 8 lbs and we had exemptions for a minumu of 10". (we have a 3 for the men and 3 for the ladies limit). Some didn't catch but one fish and no one caught a full limit. Kevin and I caught 3. I had the first one on a frog first thing and he had one on a weightless fluke right after. Both were very dark. We wanted to fish outside Shingle Creek on the sheel bed, but a guy in a pontoon boat was there using shiners. The whole time we watched him, he didn't pull up a single bass and he just kept checking to see if he still had shiners on. The third came from the grassy island and my net job saved that one. It had slapped at the bait and when Kevin set the hook, he had it just under the mouth on the outside. Water was about 75 degrees when we finished at noon.
  12. Hi there, We've been fishing it the last couple saturdays. What we did catch seemed to be all head and skinny body. Last Saturday was (of course after the little cold front) cool, blue bird skies and they weren't hitting much. We managed some on a fluke, weightless. We checked with the Game and Fish biologist who was making his rounds and he said "no one was catching much and what they caught were skinny". We are having a couples tournament this Sunday out of Southport.
  13. Thats original..lol I have had guys pull almost on top of me when I was fishing by myself, but I can give them the "look" and it normally works.
  14. RIP Donna, prayers for her family.
  15. Congrats Mr. Franco
  16. X2 Fish as much as possible Long term: When I retire I would like to fish a couple of the LBAA tournaments.
  17. Very nice website!
  18. Congrats Deb!!
  19. Bear in mind that lawns are fertilized with Cow manure and the drainage systems running from the streets to lakes and ponds.
  20. I saw it on DISH network at a friends, but it was one of those "free preview" tryout things and then they (DISH) quit offering it. I have DIRECT and am one of those petitioning for it. I got seriously hooked on WFN and the withdrawal is terrible.
  21. WFN if you can get it on your Tv providers programming.. and mine doesn't have it..Bummer.
  22. 2nd year without a pay raise, but thankful to have my job and blessed to be married (one year now) to my husband who got me started in the bass tournament fishing. His added income helps pay for the boat, (Re-possessed from bankrupt dealer, never titled 2007 Stratos 294XL) and utilities, while I cover the mortgage and incidentals. In 2009 we traveled to a monthly tournament $, stayed at Camp Mack $, eat out while there $, gas, etc.$ But this year, we had to cut back, so we are just fishing a small, 8 boat or so couples tournament that rotates around local lakes, once a month (With the exception of the Law/firefighter games tournament). We actually are having the most fun ever. It ends at noon, then everyone goes to lunch nearby and chat about how we all did. Yesterday we placed 3rd and had big bass.. lot's of fun and made a lot of new friends.
  23. Ohhhhhh, the bait monkey has laid a big time trap for you!
  24. Good Luck!
