  1. That was great. It reminded me from when I worked at BPS.
  2. Always have one on. We bought the Manual/Auto Inflator type from PBS. I've seen far too many preventable drownings when I was a CSI.
  3. I'm liking it so far, except my avatar isn't showing. Soooooo I'm off to check out the help menu or find that photo. I like that photo..
  4. I'm liking it so far.
  5. Thanks for the advice gar-tracker. We'll be careful. We don't want to replace a lower unit 2x in one year. See you in June.
  6. Thank you for sharing! Great photos and it's great to see the kids enjoying themselves.
  7. We are headed down on the 9th to fish Lake O. We want to wear out the 11 year old catching fish and it doesn't matter if they are dinks or not (for him). When he is done, whipped, worn out, we are going familiarize ourselves with the lake, so we have a better idea for our tournament in June. I'm hoping to catch a big bass, but main focus this trip is to get the 11 year old excited about fishing on something besides the Xbox fishing game. Then off to get an Okee Burger!! 8-)
  8. We were fishing a couples tournament on Lake Conway and we in the same area as some guides using shiners for their clients. There were seagulls around going after baitfish popping up. The bass were hitting on them, so it was working out well for us too. This lady was doing pretty good catching some bass on the shiners, until we heard her saying "Noooooooooo!! This isn't what I had in mind".. A seagull had snatched up her bait as it hit the water and was trying to fly off with it, and she's trying to reel it back in, and the shiner is flapping, dangling about 2 foot below the bird. She did get her bait back, however it was an amusing break inthe fishing action.
  9. I like the idea too.
  10. I see the Pro's holding out this bait or that, and it's something like a dark colored sweet beaver./otter. but in one section of footage, it shows used WHITE or light colored lures scattered all over the deck. (I know it is so you can see the bait dissappear when the fish eats it. That's why I have pink.. honest.. really.. before I got a pair of Costa's I couldn't see my line jump or even my line) 8-) Stuff like they are flipping in? Definetly braid.
  11. I'd like to hear a little more about that one!!! x2. Do tell.
  12. Get more time out on the water. Catch a 10 lber or at least improve my personal best. Catch a fish on a Jig.
  13. Nice one, thanks for sharing
  14. In Kissimmee near the tourist area on 192, there is the Joe's Crab Shack. 10 Blake Blvd and W192. In St. Cloud which is just east of the turnpike and Kissimmee, there is Crabby Bills at the marina on East Lake Toho and right on 192 (called 13th street downtown) is a must eat place called The Catfish Place. They have Seafood to Freshwater food. Try the "Cracker Special" with Froglegs, Catfish, Alligator and Turtle. I'm going out on Saturday fishing Toho to try and up my personal best. We have a Red Stratos with single power pole and Accent marine on the side. Maybe we'll see you on the lake.
  15. Great photos! Thanks for sharing!
  16. Well, like I said, I often let them in if they ask, but not always. It depends on how they ask. If they are rude and demand the spot, it ain't happening. It's just how I was raised, I guess. It's very rare that anyone even asks. They respect my area and move on. Right now I'm trying to better my personal best and entered in the State vs State contest on another forum here. So if I'm on a fish, I'm staying.
  17. I haven't really had other fishermen intrude into my space, only a couple have come motoring within my casting distance, but it just took "the don't even go there LOOK" I gave them and they stayed a reasonable distance. I pretty much chat up anyone who comes close enough and after a few pleasantries we keep on fishing. (and no, I don't talk as much as the lady on the E-Tech commercial) Now if a guy comes near and explains he's fishing a tournament and I'm not, I often let him in and I also try to make sure I'm not getting into anyone's area if they are fishing near me. If I'm in a tournament, it's my spot till I move off. I also have lunch once a week or so, at the local marina (where they filmed "Bait Shop") and visit with the regulars and visiting fishermen. I get many tips volunteered to me from fishermen of all ages. Not exactly their honey hole, but what was working for them and when.
  18. I just like this photo. I was able to zoom in from where I was at.
  19. This is when he knew he had it won.
  20. I attended the weighin with my husband, step son and his friend from school. They had a blast chatting with Shaw while he waited in line.
  21. There are couples tournaments around, one ABA will be on East Lake Toho this Saturday. One of the Local guy's started a monthly tournament for couples and it's a blast. We fish at safe light till Noon weigh in..then we all go eat lunch! That is where we get to hear everyones "one that got a way" story. We have guy's with their Mom (who has won many times), husband/wives, BF/GF, Father /Daughter, etc. I found out about who to contact for the couples tournament by fishing an afternoon (Noon till dark) tournament by myself. I didn't catch a keeper that day, but had plenty of competitors running by and checking to make sure I was okay and wasn't the only one without a keeper. I've found nothing but support, interest, and often great tips on what to use. Many from this very board and often just out on the lake.
  22. X2 I post in there sometimes, but mostly in the other forums. I can't get online very often on the work computer and at home we have but one internet connection (Hughes Net) and if the step-son is logged on, well I know it'll be awhile before I can get on line. Plus with Hughes Net, evenings are high traffic and the forums download very slowly. Other than that, I'm out Fishing, or been kidnapped by the Bait Monkey. ;D
  23. My husband would Ditto this.. ;D
