  1. I own a nitro x5. Does the deep cycle battery in my boat only run the trolling motor? And the cranking battery on my boat runs everything else like the GPS/Fishfinders, live wells, navigation lights, bilge pump? I am trying to figure out what the deep cycle and cranking battery power up.
  2. I am fixing to add another battery to my boat. I want to replace a 54# Motorguide trolling motor with a 70# Minn Kota. The problem I am having is that my boat has a 12v battery to run the current trolling motor. So, I have to add another battery to be able to run the Minn Kota(24v). Can you all give me some advice as to what I am getting myself into. Is it going to be very expensive? Do I have to rewire the whole boat? Do I need a different fuse box? Will it affect any other electronics on my boat? What is it that I am going to need to get this done? Can it be done at home or should I buy the materials and have the boat dealer do it for me? Any websites that may have useful information would be great. Thanks in advance for your help.

  4. Booyah 3/4 oz A-Jig in nest robber color with a zoom chunk trailer in pumpkin. This jig has a lot of action. I really like the skirts on these jigs.
  5. I have never used a swimbait. I recently purchase some H20 brand swimbaits. 5" tilapia color with some 6/0 keel weighted hooks. Gonna give them a try. the only thing is that I can't seem to find any keel hooks that weigh more than 3/8 oz. i would like a 1/2 or 3/4 oz keel hook so i can get these baits to sink a little faster. I get a little impatient thinking how long its going to take my lure to get to the depth I want. Anyone know where I can get such a hook?
  6. I am having trouble intalling a new gps/fish finder in dash. The trouble I am having is that I dont understand the fuse panel under my steering wheel. Can anyone forward me to some helpful information Thanks,
  7. I had not done anything when I originally posted. Now I understand what you meant by having my reel serviced. It can mean a cleaning or a new pawl like you mentioned. Should the line guide nut be nice an tight then? Thanks for all the advice.
  8. The reel is a abu garcia black max 5 bearing reel. I usually use this reel for friends that tag along. I don't lend them my revos so ill let them use the black max. But it was my first baitcaster, so i want to keep it working. I recently took it all apart and cleaned it, greased, and oiled it. Seems to be working great. hasn't stalled anymore. I dont know how it would need work when everything looks to be in good shape.
  9. what is the best setting for the line guide nut? Should it be tight or loose? I am having trouble with a reel that I have. It seems to reel the line in fine then all of a sudden it stalls on the left side of the worm shaft going back and forth like if the pawl is missing the grooves of the worm shaft. Then it seems to correct it self after several cranks of the reel handle. Can anyone give me some insights?
  10. I am fairly new to boating, so please excuse the beginner questions. I would like to know more or less how long it usually takes to charge a 24 cranking battery and a 27 deep cycle battery using a 2 bank 4 amp onboard charger.(4/4) Let me know if you all need anymore information. I forgot to mention that the battery is 12 volts. Thanks,
  11. I have a 27 interstate deep cycle battery. And a 24 Deep cranking. I was looking at my battery charger and I see several wires that are not being used. I was also looking at the model of the charger that I have and I have a quest 8 amp 4/4 battery charger with alternator module. Does this mean the cranking battery is attached to the alternator module and the deep cycle is attached to one of the banks, leaving me with an extra bank for a new batter? I have attached a pic of the battery charger and wires that are not being used. Colors are brown, green yellow, and blue.
  12. thanks for the information. Just what I needed to know. I have another question now. Would I need to get another battery charger? I have a two bank 4 amp battery charger.
  13. Hello guys! Im looking for you all's advice. I have a 54# motorguide that runs on a 12 volt battery. I have been fishing 6 hours days and tend to leave when my trolling motor battery gives out. My question is can I run my motorguide on two batteries in series? 24 volts? Will it effect it in any way? My boat has two batteries one for the motorguide and one for cranking. I have an nitro x5 starter boat. Thanks for the responses....
