  1. Well, here it is. The report for my "super early" trip. Basically, it was a disaster. I wake up at 5:45, only for it to be pouring down. So, I go at 8:30. I thought the fish would be on a topwater bite, but of course, low and freaking behold, they wouldn't even touch 'em. As it turns out, they were packed in to really tight cover. To top off the whole day, I missed an EASY eight pounder, and then a VERY easy seven, and then could never get them to touch anything else. There was one good part of the day. I caught this little chunker on a Storm Thunderstick jerkbait. 5 lbs even. http://s709.photobucket.com/albums/ww96/Fat-G-2009/?action=view&current=Chunk008.jpg
  2. Can't wait till 5:40 tommorow morning. Gettin' up really early to go to my pond and fish. I'm so excited, I just rigged up! Here's what I got. Citica/6'6" MH Cherrywood and 14 lb mono- 1/4 oz chartreuse buzzbait My brother's Black Max/6'6" MH Cherrywood and 14 lb mono- Weightless hook and Zoom Trick worm to follow up on short strikes I'm so pumped!!! It's gonna be a blast!!! I'll keep ya'll posted on the results.
  3. Thanks, and I can't believe I did it, but I forgot to also mention that at the end of the day, I reared back and fired, but the lure never touched the water. It went directly into his head. Nothing bad, but a lure in the head is never enjoyable :'(
  4. I almost forgot to tell you guys, I went to Wal-Mart the other day and bought a bunch of stuff. I spent $23, but if I had bought the same stuff anywhere else it would have been at least $33. That place has some seriously cheap stuff. My dad was telling me about how all his friends are always talking about how good it is, but I was like : yeah whatever, can't be that great. WRONG! You guys that don't really go there should check it out.
  5. Went out today to my pond, and at first the weather seemed very promising. With heavy cloud cover and rain in the forcast, it was the kind of day in the summer where you could catch fish all day. That hope was soon terminated. When we got to the pond, the skies cleared up, and I mean really cleared. It turned into a bluebird kind of day, and it was shaping up to suck. We arrived at 1, so it's not like the action was going to pick up anytime soon. After not catching anything for a while, my 13 yo. brother thankfully tied on a Red Eye Shad. He immediately caught one, so I tied one on too:) Anyway, my brother, who usually sits there and watches me pull in fish after fish, killed me. He caught a beautiful 5, and the biggest I caught was about 8 inches. Really? Oh well, I would rather watch him catch ten fish than catch thirty myself. It's pretty cool to watch someone succeed in something you started them off in, especially when they get inspired to do even better.
  6. Private pond:)
  7. Dock Master, I sure do. It was POURING that day, but we just kept catching fish! Pauley, at a local pond. There are some pigs in there. I know there's a 10, and I'm just waiting to catch it!!!
  8. I finally got a photobucket account, so now I can post pics. Here are some of the fish I caught this Spring. First one was caught on a chartreuse/green T-1 Spinnerbait. 5 pounds even. http://s709.photobucket.com/albums/ww96/Fat-G-2009/?action=view&current=NewPB036.jpg This one was 7.5 pounds, caught on a 1/2 oz Strike King Bleeding Bait spinnerbait- white/ red. http://s709.photobucket.com/albums/ww96/Fat-G-2009/?action=view&current=BigPerch006.jpg This one was 6 pounds even, and was caught on a 3/8 oz Strike King Tour Grade Football Jig, Texas craw color, with a green pumpkin Yum Chunk as the trailer. http://s709.photobucket.com/albums/ww96/Fat-G-2009/?action=view&current=Twomore006.jpg Last one, which is also my PB, was 8.16 pounds. I caught this toad on a 1/2 oz. Booyah Boo jig, black/blue, with a black/blue chigger craw for a trailer. 25 inches long. http://s709.photobucket.com/albums/ww96/Fat-G-2009/?action=view&current=NewPB029.jpg
  9. I was using 5" Green Pumpkin/Black Flake, and I also found that Tiki Stiks are pretty much just as good. I know they don't have as much salt, but I caught just as many.
  10. Just got back from a trip to a local pond. My goal today was to catch some fish on a Senko, as I have been too busy with other lures to try one. Wow. I also used a Wave Worm Tiki Stick, but just because I ran out of Senkos!!! These little buggers are really amazing. Usually when I go to this pond I catch probably an average of five fish. Today? 18. The biggest was exactly four pounds, but was around 5 pre-spawn. Once again, great bait. Definitely will be buying more.
  11. Am willing to but a 6'6" MH Fast tip Mojo, and a good 7' H rod. (Don't care what kind) Anyone willing to sell one?
  12. Here is my report from this Spring and early Summer. Well, one of my main goals of this Spring was to get better at jig fishing. Let's just say, I definitely did. Of course you have you pre-spawn 6 and 7 pounders that slam spinnerbaits, but overall I caught a TON of fish on jigs. My main jig and color was a Strike King Tour Grade Football Jig in the Texas Craw color, 3/8 oz., with a green pumpkin Yum chunk trailer. Now, I fish mostly from the shore, so a lot of the cover I fish is basically right next to me. Either way, I still caught a bunch o' pigs this Spring on the jig. One day, it started raining, so my fishing buddy and I went home until it had passed. We then went out later, (by the way I had previously in the day caught a 4.5 pounder), and I caught a 5, and to cap off the whole day, a six. All on the jig. I have learned a lot about when and how to fish jigs, but that's not the end of the story. A couple weeks ago, I was using a 1/2 oz. black and blue Booyah jig, and I was fishing a long lay-down. I pulled an 8.16 off of it, my new PB. I love jigs now! I am also getting a ton of confidence in them. Now, if I could just catch some on a Senko.........
  13. do you use a bobber, or no bobber?
  14. If you had to go to a new pond, that you knew had 10+ pound fish in it, but you could only take 1 lure, what would it be? After you vote, please explain in a reply. Mine would be a 1/2 oz. black/blue jig, or a 7 in. Zoom Trick Worm
  15. Oh no, we will:) I'm catchin' that fish next year pre-spawn baby:)
  16. Actually the other day, I caught a post-spawn eight pounder that weighed 8.1 lbs. Do you guys think that pre-spawn this fish was 10 lbs?
  17. Come on guys, post 'em up, all those ten+ pounders you've caught. i would, but mine is still in the pond:)

  19. I was thinking about getting one of these to catch some hawgs, but am a little weary about spendin' $20 on one lure. anyone used 'em? I am going to get the bluegill one. How much do they weigh? Could I use it on a 6'6" MH baitcaster with braid? Thanks
  20. Hey guys. I am a small pond angler out of Va. My favorite kind of fishin' is t-rigged soft plastics and spinnerbaits. I hope i can get the pics to up load.
