  2. I've seen a couple threads like this on different forums. A lot of people have broken their Veritas on the FIRST hookset, even if it was a dink. http://www.tackletour.net/TTForums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=54123&hilit=veritias
  3. Hahahaha I still laugh when I see your "PB wife". Hahahahahaa
  4. Whoops, my mistake. I really don't check this forum much LOL. Either way these things look pretty sweet. I love my Baby Bass, but they're a little fat. These might be the ticket.
  5. Thanks guys, I ended up paying $197.99 for it from TW. They really are the best to deal with. It was $20 less than BPS, and i used a 10% off coupon. I think I got a pretty good deal! I got a new rod/reel combo at the perfect time. I just tried to take apart my Citica to clean it and I can't get it back together LOL. I'll have to send it to someone to clean and put together again, but I won't need to worry about it for a while thanks to the new combo. Rod is scheduled for delivery next Thursday, which is my birthday so it works out well ;D
  6. Got a funny feeling he wont be selling his new reels for a long time. Either way he's great to deal with. You'll have to keep us updated on how the Verdict's are.
  7. Yet another amazing looking, affordable offering from ML. I'm going to get the Light LM color. But it's heavy. I guess that's reason enough to buy a swimbait rod. ;D
  8. David P is the man. This is my second reel I've bought from him. He's a cool dude, knowledgeable fisherman, and really good salesman hahah. I think I'm going to strictly buy reels from him haha.
  9. I just placed an order on TW for a 7'2 MHF Cumara. Man I'm pumped. It will be paired with the Curado 200e7 I have coming in from David P. Rod will be used with 50/12 PP for t-rigs, jigs, and pitching. Man I'm freaking excited. I realized after my outing today that I really want a rod longer than 7' and pretty beefy for throwing Rage Craws with a 1/4 oz tungsten weight, especially pitching them. I've heard these are mad sensitive and balanced, and it'll look amazing with my Curado and the near-black color of the PowerPro. I'm really really excited. I'm gonna have to post some pictures when they both get here.
  10. Thanks guys, and the fish was amazing. I thought it wouldn't have been that much meat, but we had more than enough to feed two more people. It was one of those days that you won't ever forget. I mean really. Mike is an awesome guide, friend, and boss. He has a passion for the river that is unreal. Forgot to add, Mike also guides Eagle-watching trips that are amazing as well. He has names for all of them that have a significant meaning, that either people from past trips have named, or it goes along with where the nest is located. He took a shad and injected it with air, threw it out in the river, and "Bandit" swooped down and grabbed it from the water. It truly was amazing. Made the hair on my neck stand up and I got the chills. It was like something from the Discovery channel.
  11. That reel man, woo! I don't think many people realize how awesome that reel is. Never really hear much about them, but man are they smooth.
  12. The Veritas or the Verdict? I really want to place an order on a 7' MHF Verdict but I want to hear what people have to say about them first. The ones I handled at Dick's felt very crisp, as with the Veritas.
  13. Weird, it showed them a while ago, and I started to place an order on a 7' MHF, almost clicked submit and it wasn't there. Weird. Hopefully they'll have them up again by the end of tonight...
  14. Finally showing on the site. Now people will get one, so we'll see some reviews hopefully soon.
  15. Yes, I've held it in the store. It's extremely well-balanced and VERY light. However the Veritas rods are stiff for their ratings, so I doubt it would be a good deep crank rod.
  16. I really want to get a 7' MHF Verdict but I haven't heard much about them. I might be the person that fishes it first and actually writes a review for BR. Part of me says to wait though. I'm just wondering if they're better than the Veritas, especially more sensitive.
  17. Wrong type of fish for it to have been impressive ;D Went out Monday with my boss fishing for big blues. My brother and another kid came along too, and it made out for a great day. Think we caught probably 12-15 in the end, my 18 ended up being the biggest sadly. I really wanted to put my bro on a 40+. We also kept a 6 we caught, filleting it up ten minutes later and throwing it in the frying pan. Best fish I've ever had, and a really cool thing to do. Frying up a freshly caught fish while you kick back and wait for a bite. Awesome. Here are some pics. Biggest of the day, 18 lbs. My bro with a FAT cat. Captain Mike fryin' up some catfish. God that stuff was really good.

    Dream Car

what kind of car and truck are those? If I'm not mistaken that would be Eleanor and a lifted crew cab GMC Sierra. Mine would be a Ford Superduty with a powerstroke turbo diesel. Crew cab. Then I would get it lifted probably 2 inches.
  19. Frogs, jigs, plastics, and swimbaits all get 50/12 or 65/16 PP. Spinning rigs have 6# Yo-Zuri Hybrid or braid. Try some PowerPro for your plastics my friend.
  20. A Curado 200e7 from David P, and an Avid AVC70MHF that I'll probably pick up from Dick's tommorow. 50/12 PP, and a pack of the new Baby Thumpers. Woo hoo!
  21. Wow, I held these yesterday at the Richmond BPS. I am extremely impressed. These rods are seriously light. The actions feel awesome. I held the 7'6 MH up next to a 7'2 MH Cumara, and the Veritas felt lighter. Yes people I just said that. It FELT lighter. I'll end up getting the 7'6 MH for throwing big worms into cover. Time will tell though, I was curious about the sensitivity. Balance even on the big stick was flawless. Anyone use these?
  22. Or 50/12 PowerPro! Especially with the GLX, man that would be a winner!
  23. Nice, I'll be doing a lot of pitching with it. The Avid's are really stout for their ratings! I held a couple at BPS today. But the rod that really caught my eye was the Veritas, that thing was unbelieably light. I really want to get the 7'6 MH eventually for big plastics.
  24. I've settled on the Avid AVC70MHF. I think it'll be a great rod for the techniques I mentioned. Love me some braid.
  25. Actually, I have some neighbors that are "interesting" to say the least. I live in a middle-upper class neighborhood, and my family and I have yet to come up with an explanation as to how our lovely little neighborhood has come to this. To our left are major drug addicts, only fueled by the father, the largest enabler in the world, who funds their addiction with his profession, which is a lawyer. The other day the oldest son (I kid you not) was "swiffering" his front yard, while wearing a doormat around his waist, and an armadillo helmet. Yes, the type from Dukes of Hazzard. Across the street lives the ex-con rapist along with his wife, a former spouse to another man for TWENTY-SEVEN years. She met him in a prison ministry group, and left her entire family for him. No joke.
