  1. Rage Craws, Hawgs, Lobsters, and Smokin' Roosters. Also a pack of Fat Ikas.
  2. I just got an email back from Richard Dobyns. He said the difference between the Savvy and Champon is very little, other than the cork, guides, and blanks. He said the blank difference is not a big deal. The main point he got across is that with the Champion you're getting nicer components; like guides and cork. Other than that, if it's a matter of saving money, get the Savvy.
  3. Crestliner, the 3rd and 4th picture really amazing. I'd love to hear the stories if you have a chance!
  4. Sharpie markers are'n' free either! The pen works well, nice easy groove, has lasted fine so far. Haha well duh they're not free! But a fat Sharpie at the counter of Home Depot is 97 cents. Costs nothing to put a cut in the tip. I'd rather spend a dollar then $3. I personally don't care, it's not my money I'm spending. Plus two bucks doesn't really make a difference either way to me. Daddys money ??????? Hahaha no, I was mostly kidding. I usually pay for my tackle, unless it's a birthday or my mom feels in the mood to buy it for me. Love my mom.

  6. I just placed an order from Tackle Warehouse and included this. Looks like a great tool! Should be very handy, and it's just what I was looking for. Anyone have/use one?
  7. Not really "artistic" but this shot came out beautifully.
  8. Neighborhood lakes are very fragile. Overfishing them can kill the fishing. Personally, I have overfished one killer pond. Now I have to work really hard to catch a good fish, but they are still there. Try spots you never really put alot of time into, with different techniques. The fishing could probably come back, but it would take a lot of time with little or no fishing pressure.
  9. Yeah man, the Advantage I put on it is the only reel I currently have. My Curado is still at David's house and my Citica is being fixed and cleaned/lubed. It's kind of an odd combo, the Advantage is a pretty heavy reel. I can't wait to put the Curado on it. Wonder what a Core Mg50 would be like? ;D
  10. I have read the opposite. Do you have any opinion as to why it cast so poorly for you? steve Casting was superb for me. I mean I could really launch it.
  11. I have a 6' MHF rod I"ll give to you if you pay shipping. It would be a great jerkbait rod.
  12. Sufix 832, 3 bags of Rage Craws, and a Coca-Cola.
  13. Ahhh, you lucky b*****d. I wish I could haha!
  14. I like the idea of having it in your name like the mods. However I think the idea of having an all-around "Angler of the Year" including everyone would be unfair. Maybe split by age: Teen- Under 18 Adult- 19-30 Adult- 31-40 Adult- 50+
  15. Did you get one?
  16. Scratch my previous response, I like to flip more than anything. Timber or grass (matted or moderately thick) in 5+ feet. Pulling a 6+ out of that stuff is such a thrill for me. I don't know why I didn't think of that earlier. Also love to throw a frog in the same junk.
  17. Yes, and it's my first "high-end" rod. I'm screwed man. I've seen the light. Now all my gear is gonna be way more expensive haha! What rod are you referring to?
  18. It is for me. I fish ponds from the bank 90% of the time, and really only throw jigs, plastics, frogs, and swimbaits. I use braid on all my rods. A lot of people worry abot it "scaring" the fish, I personally couldn't care less. If a fish is gonna bite, it'll bite. I'm not fishing for money, and I've caught enough big fish without a leader to erase any doubt in my head. On the other hand if I was fishing on a big lake and "had" to throw say a spinnerbait or (GASP!) a crank, I would throw copoly.
  19. I really like PowerPro, and would have no reason to switch from it to another line, other than the fact that the 832 is a REALLY good line. The more I think about my time fishing it today, the more I realize that's it's way better than PowerPro, and I'll probably not buy another type of braid for a while now. It just hit me how well that line fished. It was extremely smooth.
  20. Eric, keep us updated on the Champion, probably be my next rod. Fishin' it with braid right? I actually cancelled the order on my Champion after playing around with the Savvy for a while. I am completely impressed with that rod. It just oozes quality. I'm sure I'll wind up getting the Champion before too long anyway, but if the entire Savvy lineup is this good, who knows. As far as I understand, the blanks are the same between the Savvy and the Champion, there are just different components used. Better cork, guides, hook keeper, etc etc.I definitely like the color scheme of the Savvy more. As far as the braid goes, I played around a bit with some fluoro and co-poly mainlines, back to braid though. Plenty of sensitivity with both of them, but I'm a braid with a leader kind of person. I just love having that instant hook setting power at any distance. Really? So that would mean there is no reason for a 17 year old to pay $250 compared to $170 for the 7'6 HF model.... Although I just looked and realized the Savvy 766 doesn't have the cutout reel seat...wonder why?
  21. Wanted to go out today to use my new Cumara, and I stopped at Dick's and picked up a spool of the 832 in 50lb. I don't have the Curado yet, so I threw my Advantage HSTA on and spooled up. The Curado is coming with 70lb Samurai. When it gets here I'll put the 832 on the Curado and the Samurai on the Advantage, which is my frog reel. I really like the 832. It's a lot smoother than PowerPro, and is less noisy going throught the guides. At first I wasn't sure about the color (it's lighter than PP) but now I realize it's a good thing and will help with line watching. You can just color the line close to your bait with a Sharpie if you're not using a leader. The Cumara is really amazing. For the first time I feel like I bought the perfect rod for what I wanted, and it has the exact action I wanted. It's really light, and extremely sensitive. I threw my standby, a 1/4 oz. Rage Craw t-rig, for most of the trip, then at the end I switched to a 1/2 oz. jig'n Rage Craw. It's honestly the perfect rod for me. If you were wondering about the 832, buy it. It's a really great braid. Now all I need is my Curado and some warmer weather!
  22. Holy crap, this thing is sick. So light. Perfect, and I mean perfect action for what I'm gonna use it for. I also like that the handle is kinda short and there's a lot of rod, which means really good leverage. It's crazy sensitive too. Can't wait to strap my e7 on here. Going out tommorow to pitch a jig or t-rig, hope to catch a pig!

It's good for the price. Here's an example. Look at that hookset haha! I just popped the rod, didn't move my arms at all.
  24. Cumara 7'2 MHF that BETTER get here today, 2 spools of PowerPro, the forementioned Curado, and in 364 days a G19.
